I wouldn't get to excited about june 1st cuts. Teams have a better idea of how to manage the cap, therefore you don't see as many big names on the chopping block this time of year.

What's up with Carolina?

They already used both of their post-June 1 exceptions when they cut Dan Morgan and Mike Wahle. They have a $7.45 million cap credit coming tomorrow. If they wanted to cut someone else and not have everything accelerate into this season, they'd have to wait until tomorrow. The only other teams to use either of their exceptions are Detroit (Kalimba Edwards) and Washington (Brandon Lloyd).

Thanks Adam. I didn't know there was a limit on the Jun1 designees but it makes complete sense for the league to do that.

I wasn't aware that Edwards had been cut either. That's a shame. This guy was a Ware like talent who just couldn't stay healthy.

June 1st isn't likely for cuts, like AdamJT pointed out, teams will just use an exception. Though trade talks could come back up as, to my knowledge, there is no "exemption" for pre-June 1st trades. I think Roy Williams (Det) is dead, and Chad Johnson is probably still in a waiting pattern, but what about Anquan Boldin?
