It is not necessary to watch the prior series. The current series offers enough backstory to provide the viewer with enough information to grasp this story.Do I need to watch the previous one? I watched a season and gave up on that one.

IDK, if he "gave up" on the series before, I don't see why he'd like it nowIt is not necessary to watch the prior series. The current series offers enough backstory to provide the viewer with enough information to grasp this story.
Plus, the current series does not have plot ties associated solely with the original series. There are subplots connecting it with The Punisher, Echo, etc. Any viewer will not get the full background without watching everything presented in the past anyway.
What made the 4th episode "off the chain" ..?Who is watching it? This is definitely not a disappointment so far. No spoilers though for those that want to watch it but haven’t started yet. I just want to hear your feedback on what you think so far.
Episode 4, released this week was off the chain!

Oddly I think it is pretty similar to the Netflix version.Sorry as much as I love Daredevil the marvel superhero ...as much as I adored the Netflix DD version.....but thus far this Disney version of DD is Horrible !
- This is exactly what I feared if Disney took over the Dardevil series ..deeply watered down, and deeply disappointing
- It is so boring and sloooow ...has very, very little fighting action in it,.. and is more of a CSI -like soap opera, with practically zero superhero action ..
- It's slinging conversation spots of WIlson Fisk and Matt Murdock, .
.( spoiler Alert) it's spent almost a whole hour on a homeless guy whose crime was only shoplifting some caramel candy,...
we see nothing of the White Tiger's fighting prowess besides a 1 second video survellance,..
Even the entrance of the Punisher meeting Murdock was whacked ! ...
- If it were Netflix, that meet up again scene between the two would have been an all out fly-kicking brawl between the two..
.The only part that was of interest was the opening scene of the series vs Bullseye..
If you're gonna put up a Marvel Action- Superhero series, and a very popular one at that - Go ahead Put up and fully display the super action on Full display ..
but nope ,,, here's come the dragging diaolgue chatter.. here comes the marriage therapy,... no Dardevil suit .. no dardevil scarf ... no Wilson Fisk action,. no White tiger action
just his alter ego in a " Subway wrestling match " ..
I'm trying to stay with it after 3 or 4 episodes, ..but its really boring the heck outta me. I'm already convinced it's not gonna be anywhere near what Netflix made of it.
In fact it's gonna be just the utter opposite, .. flat, disappointing and a waste of time by Disney. ..and another example of Disney's hands on failure.

It was a while back. I remember the fights being realistic and liking that part, but not liking the storyline very much. Sometimes I go back and watch something I didn’t like at first and end up liking it.You didn’t like it?
Unlike you, I’m on @BrAinPaiNt wavelength in that I view the “slow pace” as a build-up, as he left the superhero behind. I also remember the previous Netflix series as being slow in the beginning. What made the 4th episode "off the chain" ..?
Season 3 of Gangs of London has start.
This show really is brutal.
I saw one of them got cancelled which makes it tough to commit to it. Why Netflix released both at the same time is weird.Just finished the Recruit on Netflix. I actually liked this series, which doesn't take itself seriously at all. It is an entertaining comedy drama with some good characters and wit. I was a bit disappointed with the final episode of season 2. It was rushed and off the rails at times, but this was still an enjoyable watch.
I understand it was cancelled by Netflix. There will not be a season 3. That's disappointing in a way, but I can understand why. Where does it go after season 2? I supposed they could squeeze one more season out of this if they wanted too, and I kind of wish they would, but I can see that turning out to be too much to pull together and remain as entertaining as the first two seasons.
Netflix promoted Night Agent, which I thought was terrible, but the Recruit was flying under the radar a bit. Netflix should have reversed the way they promoted these two shows. The Recruit is a much better watch. Night Agent was dumb.
I give The Recruit a solid 7.5 out of 10.
I watched it.You guys really need to watch Adolescence on Netflix. What great story telling….
I agree about the night agent. Liked the first season but it was a bit of a chore to get through the second season.Just finished the Recruit on Netflix. Love Stephen Grahams work interestingly enough he and Ashley Walters who both star in this are also in that Thousands Blows show on Disney Plus that releases around the same time.I watched it.
Found it a little lacking but was a good story overall.
Always been a fan of Stephen Graham.
