good luck in the future. I am not one of those guys that ever feels 'sorry' for guys that get cut. They have had the "privlidge" of being an NFL player. The privlidge of playing for one of the most recognizable franchies in ANY sport. And in Newmans case...he was paid very very well...I mean millions. So good luck going forward....but we need to get back to the business of WINNING...and moving on from guys like Newman is a good start. I cheer for the star. Not the names on the back of the jersey! Let's roll!!!!!!!!!

He was one of my favorites but I think he got tainted with many other members of the defense and became more trouble and attitude than his play made him worth. Good luck in the future and thanks for a cpl great years.

I will never forget how you gave up more 3rd and longs than a porn star though.

I loved his abilities when he came in as a rookie and I thought he had some quality years, albeit his first few. His play in recent years deteriorated way beyond his pay scale though so cutting him just had to be done. All the best T-New, thanks for the efforts.

Newman was one of my favorites during his prime. Like all good things it comes to an end, but I wish him the best. Don't be surprised if he's a good corner for someone else next year. Either way, he was a big piece of moving our defense back to respectability and ending the Dwayne Goodrich, Mario Edwards Kareem Lattimore era of our secondary.

A very up and down career-- the 'downs' being all the time missed with injury/the last two seasons or so. Hard to say too many good things about him so I'll say this...

Terence Newman. You were a Cowboy once.

Yikes. The hate here is insane. Not many realized how good he was for us when he was at the top of his game (particularly 2005). Wish we had gone further with him on the team, as he was on a few very good teams with us.

Well, I have to say I was never a fan of drafting TNew cause of the age issue, not his talent. He was a good contributor to this team, and that shouldn't be ignored.

But in the end, the age thing did come to roost. We really only got around 7 good years out of him and for a 5th overall pick, while some bust, no matter how well he played here, his time was limited cause of the age we drafted him at.

All that wasn't his fault, we made that decision by drafting him. I do appreciate what you did do for us TNew, and hopefully things will go well for the future.
