Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost is moving across the country for a head coaching position.

First reported by UCFSports.com and CBS Sports' Ryan Bass, Frost, 40, will be the new coach at Central Florida. The former Nebraksa quarterback has served as Oregon's offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. He was promoted when Mark Helfrich took over as Oregon's head coach for Chip Kelly when Kelly went to the Eagles. The school made the hire official later Tuesday morning.

Scott Frost... I didn't know he was Oregon's O coord.... makes sense. I'm not sure how good of a job UCF is, but the residual talent in florida is better than the primary talent in most states. USF knows this well.

UCF has the largest enrollment of any major D-1 football program, just ahead of Ohio State. Although U. of Minnesota, Maryland and Florida International are not far behind.

Frost was offered $1.2 million a year to be the coach at Syracuse, but he turned it down to go to UCF. Probably not a bad move on his part since UCF has a larger talent pool and plays in an easier conference.

Frost is a great OC and expect him to do well as a HC. He is also a good recruiter. He turned down a HC position last year and not surprised he had a few opportunities again.
