Even though Dallas has no 1st round pick, the news today of Lawrence signing a new deal has made me excited for the draft.

All options are possible now:
  • Trade up in the 2nd and grab a player they really want.
  • Stay put at #58 and draft best player available.
  • Trade back and pick up an additional pick or two.
This is going to be a fun draft

I would like for us to try to move up for Dexter Lawrence. That would give us the deadliest defencive line in the draft. Otherwise, I'd stay put and get Zach Allen (to groom until Quinn leaves) or the Safety from Virginia.

I think we only need 4 players and two of them can come late in the draft.

Backup RB and LB depth can come late in the draft.

S and DT with 4 picks to do it. Can move up if needed.

2nd and 3rd trade up for Abrams.
Take the 2 4ths and trade up for Khalen Saunders.

All I want is a FS and Isabella
If I had to bet on the pick at 58 right now I’d bet Thornhill
I don’t think Isabella falls to the 3rd but I like him a lot
I do think we draft a slot guy, hopefully one with return skills

We have made a habit of dabbing the corners of our mouths and pushing away from the table after doling out fat contracts. Do not do it this time. Get a late round specialist. Not some guy with "position flex". A kid that can rush a handful of snaps a game.

DLaw signing is great news. Gives us two legit DE’s. With Crawford and Collins/Woods in the middle and our all star Lber’s.. that’s a nice very formidable front seven. Throw in a draft pick as icing on the cake.

Now I want to hear that Gregory will back this season!

A rotation of Hyder, Taco, Armstrong, and possibly Gregory.. whoa.. I like it.

Go snag the best Safety available would put this defense over the top.

Last season the draft was pretty deep and the Cowboys smartly played it to their advantage. Taking a unicorn LB in the first. A top talent OL fell to them at #50 and then in the 3rd WR Gallup fell to them. Hopefully it works out with them picking 8 picks later in this draft which still looks pretty deep especially at DL and pretty good at safety.

Safety, corner (if Byron Jones walks), defensive tackle and a running back.
We need a strong backup to Zeke, who seems to take himself out of games often.
We will still be a running team despite the weapons we have at the receiver position.
If so, get a good back so the offense won't miss a beat when Zeke needs a breather or two or 10.
If Dak can fix his inaccuracies and halt his hesitation in the pocket, if the defense returns just as strong or more so and if the spirit of Jimmy Johnson possesses Jason Garrett for one season, we may be looking at a Super Bowl appearance.

The midget WR?

Unfortunately I think Dexter is going a little too high for us. I highly doubt we trade up into the 1st round. But he would be the perfect water buffalo for the middle. We'd probably have to trade up for Allen.

We've needed a 3tech for a long long time, I understand they wanted to give Collins a chance, but we have to try to get one by trading up it might actually be worth it if someone is falling.

Cooper will end up being more productive than anyone we would've picked with our 1st round pick.....IMO.

It does handicap what could of been a great draft class for us this year - but, I'll take Cooper all day. Every day.
The F.O. has done, really, really well this off season. Safety, DT whichever one is available they are the two biggest priorities. But what if a Debo Samual or someone of that ilk drops to us.
I really just want a couple of difference makers, to add to the team and more depth where we need it.
So far, after today's news it's been a better off season than I could have hoped for.
Day 2 and 3 of the draft will be incredibly important for this team.

Well, if no Allen, then I'll take Juan Thornhill at 58 and Ximines Oswale in round 3.

I don’t see a trade up unless it’s just a few spots
We need every pick we can get and then some
It’s not just about this year. Over half the roster don’t have contracts next year
We need to hit on 3-4 good players

True, but I’m still really looking forward to it!

Yeah, I was kind of hoping to get a nice DT, but o'well. As far as the Linebacker goes, I don't see him at all in the first 3 rounds. Don't know much about him.
