It's a big game so I knew this thread would surface. Predicted it earlier in the week. Get ready for the "Craig Wrolstead once had a stop over in Tampa on a flight to see Goodell. He's biased!" posts.
Regardless of bias or no bias, the Cowboys fare better with crews to call fewer penalties (on both teams) than the max penalty crews...

We all knew it wouldn’t take long for fans to start preparing for excuses. I figured by at least Friday we would see an officiating thread.

Craig Wrolstad: Referee Penalty Trends & how they may impact betting

Craig Wrolstad from a straight-up and totals standpoint is almost a .500 referee.

Where Wrolstad stands out is the home team ATS and the poor record they have when he officiates. And of the veteran refs, only Ron Torbert has a worse home dog ATS record than Craig Wrolstad.

Wrolstad has traditionally trended in the lower half of overall penalties. He was #2 in roughing the passer penalties in 2021 but that was an aberration from his normal stats.

  • Home teams 46-47 SU since 2016
  • Home teams 35-58 ATS (40%) with Wrolstad since 2016
  • Home underdogs are 13-29 (31%) since 2016
  • Wrolstad generally in the lower half of overall penalties per game in NFL

This is actually very good for us, his crew usually calls fewer penalties compared to the average.

Seems he is a fan of "let them play" unless it is just blatant.

Just be thankful we did not get Hoculi's boy, that dude throws flags against Dallas like they owe him money:laugh:

it absolutely matters who is reffing, some live to cover the spread, some like to throw an insane amount of flags and we usually dont come out on the right side a of a flag fest with this stupid team

My favorite referee was the guy who took out an index card from his pocket to measure the 1st down!! Never seen that one before!! LOL

The great Gene Steratore.. I was at that game.. sitting at about the 30 yard line about 10 rows up with a great view of that entire sequence. What I will never forget was the official who was coming in from the sideline to spot the ball being bumped off his line by one of the Raider defenders and never adjusting back from that. He was knocked almost a full yard off his line or there would not have even been a need for a measurement because Dak had gotten the first down easily. All the nonsense that came after was because of the bad spot in the first place.
