So this guy grew up in Texas then?
lol yeah loyal Cowboy fan. lol Personally I think refs have a hard job and more focused on doing their job than the outcome of a game. Regardless of when I played ball or as a spectator one constant is you will have some bad calls or at least questionable calls in a game. You fight through it and overcome it.

The great Gene Steratore.. I was at that game.. sitting at about the 30 yard line about 10 rows up with a great view of that entire sequence. What I will never forget was the official who was coming in from the sideline to spot the ball being bumped off his line by one of the Raider defenders and never adjusting back from that. He was knocked almost a full yard off his line or there would not have even been a need for a measurement because Dak had gotten the first down easily. All the nonsense that came after was because of the bad spot in the first place.
If I remember correctly, Aikman (or someone else) was our commentator for that game. He was laughing so hard, he couldn't speak. He laughed for a good 5 minutes straight.

it absolutely matters who is reffing, some live to cover the spread, some like to throw an insane amount of flags and we usually dont come out on the right side a of a flag fest with this stupid team
I'm saying these threads only show up before big games because fans are scared they'll lose. And when some lose they start reaching for excuses. So these show up ahead of time to get a jump on things.

You continue to post this lie even after I busted you on this previously. Below is the sequence. Show me a Raider bumping a ref a full yard anywhere. There were 2 refs running in to spot. Why do you lie so damn much? And then you conspiracy freaks expect to be believed?

Oh, so it was a Sunday night game. My bad...thought it was Aikman laughing, but it was Collingsworth who couldn't stop laughing for several minutes.

Show the whole clip and where they marked the ball.. Show how the ref closest to us is coming in to mark the ball a foot beyond the 40 yard line yet the measurement ends up inside the 40.

Please o arbiter of truth tell us how that ref ended up spotting the ball over a foot to the right of where his left foot was at the time your clip ended. And don't try to claim that the other ref must have overruled him because he ALSO was beyond the 40 yard line as he came in to spot the ball.

I'll answer all that as soon as you show me the Raider that bumped the ref a full yard off where he wanted to spot the ball as you claimed. Will you produce that evidence?

My mistake.. I had thought it was a Raiders player who knocked the spotting official off his line. It was actually another official but here is the sequence..

1) He initially comes in to spot the ball with his left foot firmly in the middle of the yellow and just beyond the 40 yard line. For some odd reason they CBS had created a shadow of the 40 yard line a couple of feet to the right .. But look at the side judge's left foot here.

2) Then he takes a couple if steps and again his foot is in the middle of the yellow at either right on the 40 yard line or a little beyond it.

3) Then finally this is where he ends up ultimately spotting the ball. His left foot is now well inside the yellow AND inside the 40 yard line. It happened when he bumped into the ref there on his left whose hip he placed his left hand on.

So I was right about his being knocked off his line but wrong about how it happened. It was ref on ref crime! So I exaggerated.. He only got knocked about a foot to the right not a yard. I had gotten fooled by the phantom white line that I took to be the 40 yard line.

In case anyone is interested .. this is the moment when the ref to the left bumps the guy who was trying to spot the ball.

He comes in and leans in to try to get the ball from Dak and bumps the ref who is closest to us over a foot or so. The guy who gets bumped never corrects his foot placement after that bump and that is how the ball ended up to the right of the 40 yard line instead of beyond it or right on it. The other thing of interest is that since there was a mass of bodies on the ground Dak never actually got "tackled" so any forward progress he gained while struggling in the pile should have been awarded.. and it was not.
