However, they have been instructed to allow a player to be stripped of the ball while laying on the field. Insanity personified.CATCH17;3094886 said:Do these guys have other jobs than being Officials?
If so then thats a problem imo. These guys need to be 100% dedicated to their sport.
I think a big improvement would be to not call something unless you see it and another would be to not use the Challenge rule to your advantage when you know what the correct call is but you don't call it because you know it can be challenged.
I guarantee that Packer ref knew Felix was down. He was right there on it.
You just nailed it.CATCH17;3094886 said:Do these guys have other jobs than being Officials?

These refs don't even know the basic rules...
I'm starting to think these guys are all SEC trained...

These are part time refs.
They do have other jobs.
The NFL for ALL THE MONEY they make only pay the refs part time $'s.
They botched that decision before halftime...I still have a hard time believing that a so-called professional referee crew could screw up a situation like that.

If what they did today was legit, every team in the NFL should simply take delay of game calls during the last two minutes of a half and wait for them (officials)to eventually review the play, if they believe it warrants it. You save a timeout and still get what you want in the end, and then they overturn the 5yd delay of game penalty too.
They botched a bunch of stuff today. Nobody will ever convince me this team doesnt get the shaft with the officials.

The officials ultimately got the call right - they just impersonated the keystone kops getting there.
