With the offseason conditioning starting soon, what do you guys want to see out of last years draft picks?

I for one would like to see about another 15lbs packed onto Demarcus's frame. I think his frame can add that much mass and he still wouldn't lose his speed and quickness, yet it would make him that much stronger going against those left tackles.

What do you guys want from the others?

10lb lbs on Ware would be nice
10-15lbs on Burnett if he plays the middle as expected
10-20lbs on Canty
10 lbs on Spears
I hope Rob gets much stronger not sure about him adding weight though
Justin Berlault 10-15 lbs
last but not least Ratliff 10 lbs

Al is plenty strong and has enough weight... it is just in the wrong places...he needs the mass in the butt and thighs...I am not sure that is possible for Al to do...

I agree with all of that except Berlault. He needs to get stronger but not at the expense of any speed. He needs to work on speed and quickness in order to move over to the FS spot. Agree 100% on Rob Pettiti; plus he needs to work on his agility and laterial quickness as well.

Add to that Pepper Johnson who needs to add 10 to 15 lbs of muscle mass.

I'm afraid Al Johnson has hit a wall as far as building any more muscle but it would be nice if he could add some lower body strength to deal with the big NT's out there.

problem with lower body building is that it can cost you quickness and flexibility- which is all AL has going for him.

Adam laid out this in the past - of which I have been documenting as well. Al Johnson is not a small center. He is 6-5 305. That is bigger than Mawaii, Kruetz and some of the all pro centers past few years. Can Al J add some strength this offseason - sure. But he mentally makes the calls and compared to Tackles, was one of lesat concerns on Oline keeping Bledsoe clean.

I see Allen upgrade more pressing as well as getting Petitti healthy and stronger/footwork much more important. Maybe adding a Vet like Fabini For Tackle depth.

Add getting Rivera back to 100%.

Personally - I've been on a twice a day intensive weight lifting regimen. Max dosages of Creatine, Andro, Ginko, Amph cocktails (and lots of water - kids) Not focusing on aerobics now - will start mountain biking as spring breaks here. I feel I should be at peak posting shapre around the draft.

I think Al needs to work on his technique some, that will help a tad more than thinking about more weight, particularly if you guys think he has reached the wall on that and strength!!!

Fifteen pounds to Ware's frame may be a little too much. Part of his problems besides upper body strength were getting used to playing the position and technique. He really seemed to only get better technique in regards to rushing the passer in the last two games. His sack against the Rams was a perfect example showing that he does have adequate strength, he just needs to have the proper technique to out muscle the opposing Offensive Tackle.

I wouldn't make Spears gain anymore weight. He's at 295 right now and according to Parcells and Saban, that's the perfect weight for him. According to Saban, once he ballooned to 310, that's when his play dropped off at LSU.

I also wouldn't do anything with Canty either.

I'd like to see Burnett gain a bit more muscle since he's 6'3" and about 235-240 pounds.

I'd love to see Al Johnson gain some weight, but that's not going to happen.

I'd like to see 15 more pounds on Pepper Johnson if possible.

From what I hear, AL has not been near 300 for some time. He plays at most around 295.

I think the offensive line should work on mobility. The leauge has become faster and I'd like to see our guys to be able to move in space better.

Al dont have anything going for him at present. He needs to get something going and soon. Perferably going forwards, not back into the pocket.
