1. Sign LeCharles Bentley to play center- send Gurode packing and keep Al as backup.

2. Sign Fred Beasley to play FB- wow, Witten can go back to TE instead of a glorified FB/H-Back.

3. Draft a LT in Round 1 and move Flo to RT. Keep Tucker and Petitti as backups.

The problem with that is the Cowboys need to be looking at LB in the 1st, but with the piss-poor OL play the draft board has changed.

Send Al packing. Unless hes injured and will get a lot better next year this guy is a big bust. Hes 6'5 and plays like 5'8 or something. He plays really small for such a key position requiring size and strength. I would take Andre and his mental mistakes all day compared to a person that just CAN NOT get it done no matter how hard they try due to physical limitations. If you cant do the job, you cant do the job. Its pretty much that simple.

What about Jamar Martin. He was in for a look-see. Man, that guy is one dementional, but that demension is the one we dont have. A blocking FB. He makes moose look like he was trying to be a blocking FB. Would be chaeper then Beasley.

Forget keeping Tucker...the guy got bull rushed (and Lost) to Osi who is like 265 lbs. The guy looks like he chasing a chicken out there. Didnt we get Columbo?

1) DEFINITELY, a Bentley would really rev up our OL, har har. C play has been bad on a lot of counts....1) snap count being anticipated, 2) QB/C exchange and it being soooo slow and several botched snaps 3) poor line calls and 4) flat out getting blown up, pushed back into the back field and overall not being able to block anyone. I think Rivera would be better if we were getting good C play.

2) Not all the familiar with Beasely...Witten isn't a FB and we're ******** to keep lining him up in the backfield AND not throwing him the ball at least 5x per game.

3) I think with Flo back, we're fine with Pettiti at RT. However, depending on who is availabe where I suspect we'll be picking, the OT from Miami (Winston?) might be tempting. I think we're going to need to use our first rounder on a LB like Carpenter though. I think FS has fallen on our priority list dramatically given the new light of our utter catastrophies at several other positions.

I do think that with all things considered...(the weak C draft, our current C play, etc) Bentley is a must.
We will need to at least draft some backups too.
I've got our needs:
1) OL (C, T maybe just a backup, backup G)
2) LB
3) better offensive coordination

I like that a lot...don't forget Columbo....if healthy, in the mix. If he is, then send Tucker packing!

yes this is perfect. although i may prefer to keep gurode, because at least I know he can play guard or center as backup. I highly doubt Al J can play guard, if hes getting pushed around at center.
The other three are perfect.

keep dreaming on the Bentley front he is more than likely going to be franchised, too bad for him to have to stay in Baton Rouge, San Antonio, or New Orleans.

Beasley would be a great add however.

I keep wondering how Bill's treatment of Thomas and Price might effect the outlook of potential FA's. Both of those signings were questionable to begin with seeing how Bill preaches ST's play and neither of those players were STers. Then Bill uses this as a reason to keep both on the bench.

Not good PR if you ask me.

I'm on board with OT in the first. Why aspire to merely be solid at OL by rolling with what we have and hoping guys improve? We tried that last year with CB and this year with FS.

Petitti is a nice player and a good team guy, but he has some limitations that might not be something he can overcome. A OT crew of Winston and Flo as starters with Petitti serving as a swing tackle and either Torrin or Columbo as the 4th tackle. That's as good a OT starting pair as there is in the league and great depth to boot.

We could definitely use another LB or 2, but dang if the defense isn't among the best in the league with what we have. LB seems a lot easier to acquire talent than OT. As much as I like Carpenter, how much does he improve the D?

OL is what's clearly weighed us down, much like CB last year crippled the defense. Flo coming back just makes the line good. Flo coming back and adding a Winston and maybe a C via free agency makes the line the focal point of the offense, which is exactly the way the Coach wants to play it.
