There's no doubt the Cowboys need to get better. Deeper in certain posistions, and Definately need some leadership of some sort. From statements of Jerry and Wade after losing to the Gnats, it looks like there could be some changes coming for the better. Obviously theres already been changes in the coaching staff.
Spears/Carp trade
First going to a rumor that Dallas is shopping Marcus Spears and Bobby Carpenter, which is think is a good idea being as hey both serve no purpose for Dallas. When they're on the field you dont even know. Now comes the thinking of this has to be a package deal they might be lookng for, as these guys have ZERO to little trade value. Pretty sad if you ask me since both are top 20 picks.
Now what can get get Dallas in a trade? a 3rd and a 5th? Does that help dallas? Not really, for that price i would be inclined to think dallas would keep them. Which leads me to think maybe a bigger trade with more players could be involved. NOT MCFADDEN!!
Terrell Owens
Jerry made it known that TO will be in Dallas in 08, and also said he wouldnt be against working out an extension to keep him in Dallas longer. Smart words from a Smart Owner who saw what Dallas would be like without Terrell Owens. The guy is still a top 5 WR in the NFL. Another 3-4 yrs s wha I think he'll give Dallas. Then retire and go into the HOF wih the star.
Terry Glenn
Like I said from the get go, Terry Glenn had his surgery earlier in the yr to see if he could come back, that procedure wasnt to fix it. He couldnt and he needs another operation that will end his career. He stole 5 mil of Jerrys money.
Flozell Adams
He's as good as gone too. Those who think he'll give Dallas a discount are living a dream. Dont think Flo didnt see all them Avg OL get megadeals last offseason. He's still a top 10 OL in the league that makes alot of mistakes. Bt he'll be paid like a Top Tackle by somebody who really needs one.
Jason Ferguson
I wouldnt mind seeing this guy leave. But with the Spears rumor it looks like this guy will be in Dallas and competing with Tank for th starting spot. Tank came on real good at the end of the yr. Thats going to be a good Battle.
Jaques Reeves
Unless this guy is going to take what Dallas gives him he's gone. I wouldnt really mind him being in Dallas next yr as the #4 CB. He did a serviceable job all yr, but stunk it up at the end. He really hurt his money with them 2 last games.
Ken Hamlin
If Jerry doesnt pay this guy like a top 5 safety in the NFL, then Jerry is a Moron. Hamlin was the best FA signing in the last decade after TO and Romo(remember omo was a URFA). This deserves atleast 4 mil a yr. He's only 26 so he'll be around for along time. And dallas should be looking to keep him.

I love this guy, I love the way he plays and how he prepares. I wish he was more of a leader but the truth is he isnt. I wouldnt mind dallas trading him, because now he's upped hs trade value alot. He'll be 32, but he still has enough left in the tank for somebody to utilize.
Roy Williams
God i wish this guy would get suspended, or have a season ending injury next yr LOL. I know Dallas probably wont release or trade him next yr. So to keep him off the field why cant them things happen? One can only hope.
So with all that being said. Dallas needs or semi-needs most likely will be a Tackle to compete or take the job from Free or McQ. Possibly a CB to compete with Henry or become the nickle back. Dallas def. needs a Speedy WR to take a little pressure off of Owens and free up Witten a little more LOL as if its possible. And def a Return guy.
WR might be the easiest to fill. As Dallas can go after guys like Bernard Berrian, Bryant Johnson, DJ Hackett in FA. Or, go into the draft and go that route. Crayon was OK, but he disappeared for alot of games. Without that game vs the worst defense his history(Rams) his numbers look real ugly for a #2. I'd really like to see him back in the slot where he caused so much trouble for opposing teams.
Now CB, I really dont think what Dallas needs is a rookie. A Young establish vet is what i want to see playing CB. Drayton Florence played real damn good this yr. Hell i'd take Jammer too. He's the type of physical CB Dallas could use.
Then theres a Roy Williams(DET) trade that could happen. Could ellis go to them? A mega deal for Roy and Shaun Rogers? Probably not, but its good to DREAM!
One spot i think needs to be addressed has nothing to do with the players. But with the coaches. Dallas needs a coach that demands discipline. Not a dictator because we all saw how that works. But a guy who holds people accuntable for mistakes. Maybe Dallas got that guy in Houck.
Another move of sorts, I'd really like to see Watkins on the field more. Which all goes back to the Roy comment LOL.
I dont see Dallas very active in FA this yr, some of its due to the Cap. But, more of it because its not really a good yr.
