Offseason interview fatigue

Does anyone relate?

I'm getting to the point where I don't care to read anymore offseason Tony Romo stories or watch Ware or Witten interviewed by local reporters. Do I care what Dez says after an OTA? After the first two or three times? No.

There is no draft or free agency to discuss and training camp is still weeks away. This is the deadest time of the Cowboy/NFL universe.

Once we get detailed blow by blow coverage of training camp and preseason games, my interest will rev right back up. Until then...

Though baseball and basketball are distant 2nd and 3d favorite sports for me--I'd rather track that right now then feign interest in these meaningless Cowboy "stories".

It sucks but it is what it is.

So you came to the CZ to let us know this.

Thanks.

Now beat it.

See you in July.

Dcfanatic, funny you should chime in. I have to credit you for a big part of my epiphany. For the first time I tried to listen earlier today to your "interview" with "expert" Brian Broaddus.

I wasn't going to call you out or anything...but when you had the foolishness to be rude to me...I guess the truth had to come out.

I can't relate. I want as many interviews as possible. :laugh2:

i like the interviews, its the opinion articles i get tired of......usually you can just read who wrote the article and know exactly what angle was taken and what will be written

Yeah maybe it's just a quality issue. I got tired of the trite and inane...the drivel...

I stil love me some bloggingtheyboys.com, or some bob sturm...even in the dry times of the year like now.

The DMN crew completely lacks any creative flourish. They don't know how to come at a story with a new angle. The mere idea of a new angle eludes them.

dcfanatic ...if you want to play like a big boy journalist then you need to grow some skin.

Media members get skewered every day about their work and they can't permit themselves the liberty to attack people who express opinions about their work.

Are you a fan or are you a journalist...or do you just want to play whatever suits you at the moment?

I don't listen to interviews, but I'll read the transcripts if provided.

However, when it comes to legitimate sports radio I'll listen until they take callers. I never have liked call in portions of radio shows.

I am in a desperate need for anything Cowboys. The wait has been so long i am like a crack addict without a hit. I mean i’ll take anything Cowboys related. I even read posts about Tony Romo and Golf...i freakin hate golf. But i know what your saying, everything is repeating itself. Not much NEW info right now. Today i re-watched the Carolina game to see if Choice was gassed. Maybe ill rewatch the first Giants game next...blah.

Calling me out for what? lol.

had the foolishness? lol

Epiphany? lol.

I think you are drunk.

I would think a guy who has a Super Bowl ring and 13 years under his belt as an NFL Scout can call himself an 'expert' on the game.

But we all know you know more than anyone in the world about football and that you are the real expert...

:laugh1:

See you in July.

I'm your dad at this moment.

Go to bed.

DcFanatic,

You are obviously a true cowboy fan through and through. Thats plain to see. And you have some talent as a media person -- you look good on camera, you have a great voice and think through more of what you say and ask than some other area journalists.

But I think he has a point in the fan/journalist critique of you.

You have a huge presence on message boards and yet you are very thinned skin. It blurs the line between fan and media persona.

It seems you are trying to grow your media prowess and following. But you got to be able to take in on the chin. Big time. If you want to be on TV, people are going to hate you -- not all, not most, maybe not many -- but you are going to be hated.

Rise to the occasion. Learn to take opposition with a grain of salt -- quietly.

Tap the brakes. It's not about the quantity of interviews sought after for public consumption. Rather, it's the quality of individual interviews which should be criticized.

Interesting tidbits or even genuinely engaging conversations can sometimes be found within repetitious nonsense. Ignoring everything nets one nothing in return, but to each their own.

Fans Whining Thread Fatigue.

Does anyone relate?

I'm getting to the point where I don't want to read any more threads whining about Tony Romo golf stories or about Roy Williams or Martellus Bennett interviewed by reporters. Do I care what posters say after the OTAs? After 8 or 9 times? No.

There are no Draft or Free Agency stories because we're not doing anything and training camp is still a long ways away. This is the deadest time of the Cowboys/NFL universe.

Once we get detailed blow by blow coverage of training camp and preseason failures and predictions of doom, my interest will rev right back up. Until then...

Though "that's how I roll" and "you're not a true fan" threads are distant 2nd and 3d favorite for me--I'd rather read them right now then feign interest in these meaningless whine threads.

It sucks but it is what it is.

I do?

Interesting comment seeing as I don't ever remember being behind one for anything I do with my blog or radio show. Maybe you have me confused with someone else.

If I didn't give a little back to the opposition I would be rather boring.

The point is proven by you noticing enough to post in this thread.

No?

Only thing I'm waiting to hear about is the draft picks are signed and hopefully another favorable trade.

I'd agree with this assessment and toss in those 'Rue' threads too. You're not a true fan if you don't rue the day my pet cat left and was dogged by the crappy media...but that's how I roll man...that's hows I roll.

Who cares? :banghead:

Enjoy your summer...we don't need to know about it.
