Free is a multi milillionaire because he looked good in some games not too long ago and the the league got film on him and beat him like a drum for 2 years. Remember DL studies game film for tendencies of OL that is why technique is important and with bad technique you can actually telegraph plays or what type of play to the opposing team. Was I impressed, yes, but if anyone thinks he will be a better option at OG than we have on the roster then we ar ein trouble.

Problem was as its been talked about was free had a hard time buying into the new technique but as the end of the season he was playing much better because he was able to adjust to it and it carried over into the OTA's and TC so it's no secret why he played pretty well at OG after 3 practices 1. He is a smart player even Fred mentioned it. 2. He is athletic 3. If he understands the concept and technique now. I actually am very pleased with him at OT or OG. He's been one of our consistent Oline during tV and preseason

One advantage of having Free succeed at guard is we will then need a tackle. Jerry has shown recently he won't draft a guard high, but he will draft a tackle.

While I agree with you I also think that because he is athletic it might help him at OG. One thing I noticed and it was very small is he never seemed to go flat footed which would get him into trouble he seemed to keep his feet moving which I noticed gave him the ability to recover. Now that's not to say he won't have his problems because every linemen in the league isn't perfect but what I was encouraged with is it only being 3 practices and he looked pretty good and comfortable there.
Hmm, fair enough. I just dont see that athletic ability being able to overcome a lack of overall strength. Time will tell.

I think it is great that Free can come in and play G if need be but I think Leary will be the starting G and Free who has done very well in camp at RT will go back to his spot. Main thing it give Dallas more flexabilty on the OL something we did not have before.

I would have Free at OT even if he is slightly above average, Parnell is average as a tackle and free is average at best at OG. I would rather have a slightly above average RT and avg OG (Berny) then have two guys on that side that are just average. Not to mention position changes seem to screw with Free's confidence.
