Would have liked to see Jerry make a move for this guy whom Seattle drafted 75th overall in the 2011 draft. Cleveland traded a backup DL for him.

Makes you wonder how good Moffit is... Jerrah probably would've gotten fleeced for a 3rd.

Is there some NFL forum that all NFL Execs go to in order to let every other team know they are trading a player? Why is it every time a player gets traded, someone on this bored busts Jerry for not making the deal instead? Hyuk, maybe he didn't know... garsh...

Maybe, just maybe, NFL execs contact each other directly and make deals and people only know about it once the deal is in place. At which point it is clearly at least a gentleman's agreement, if not legally worded in a document, that you don't just swoop in and offer a better deal.

I think that GMs are always on the phone with each other and know exactly who is availabe. They also know what other teams need. It's no secret to anyone in the NFL that Dallas - after a failed attempt to sign Brandon Moore - is shopping for a guard. So I'm sure Seattle's GM contacted Jerry and let him know Moffit was available. Just sayin.

And Jerry rightfully turned him down.

How many DL is Seattle planning on collecting, anyway. Didn't they bring in, like, a dozen of them this offseason?

Or Seattle saw what was happening in Cleveland and called them, possibly not wanting to trade within the conference to a potential playoff competitor. Either way, if Seattle wanted another DE, we obviously don't have the pieces for a trade at that position.

Just sick of hearing Jerry called out for every move whether he makes it or not. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't around here.

No, Jerry is damned because he didnt. Didnt address guard in the offseason and now the team and its fan base are paying for it. Sorry that you are tired of hearing that, but it's the truth.

How on earth am I, as a fan, paying for it?

Jerry went after Moore and Waters and both turned him down. Maybe we should have drafted one but thats spilled milk at this point. Give the guys on the roster a shot before damning Jerry and the offensive line.

Seattle is in no position to be give up good starting caliber guards. Seattle currently has one of the McQuistan twins starting for them at left guard and a converted 7th round draft pick who played defense in college at RG (who was one of the worst guards in the NFL last year) That they gave this guy away from a spare DL speaks volumes. They think they can get comparable or better play from rookies Michael Bowie (a seventh-round pick) and Alvin Bailey (an undrafted free agent). They've already started moving Bailey over to guard to replace Moffitt before the trade.

Exactly.

Moffit = A younger version of Dockery.
