He made some nice plays against the Jets.

Did he put anyones mind at ease or do we still need an all world 3rd receiver?

Don't know yet. I want to give him a few more games. Consistency is what I am looking for from this guy.

With the entire group of weapons we have i'd be surprised if he or any other 3rd receiver will show up with consistency.

I just think the guy can play. Especially as a #3.

We don't need a new #3..we are more than OK with KO. As you already mentioned, nobody is going to come in here as a #3 and catch 50 balls

Didn't he get by Revis on a slant once too?

I was pleasantly surprised with Ogletree. He looked much more confident than he did in preseason. I agree that consistency (coming through when called upon) is the key, but I feel much better about him after a couple of nice first down catches Sunday night.

Agree.
We don't ask much of our WR3s, but Ogletree did just fine when called upon.

By the 3-4th game, however, Dwayne Harris will be in the mix too.

We don't need pro bowlers 3 deep at every position, Romo has PLENTY of talent around him.

Yes he did get Revis on a slant on third down. I think he had another 3rd down conversion or at least one other nice catch. He played well.

That was still dumb. But I don't think it is on par with shooting yourself, or battling rape charges, or getting rung up on substance abuse policy issues, etc~

I was never anything except surprised that a guy would just let something so easily addressed, turn into an embarrassing issue. He needs somebody to look out for that stuff if he can't remember to do it for himself.

Hope that he can show up on game day without a warrant being issued to help remind him of his responsibilities.

A good thing that we don't need Pro Bowl talent 3 deep at WR, because that is something that Ogletree does not have to worry about. He is what he is, and he will have compitition soon enough. Maybe THAT is all he needs?

O-tree just doesn't come off as a guy who has his head on straight and totally commited to being a hard-working team focused guy. I suppose that perception is heavily flavored by last years camp reports that he acts entitled. I see traces of that in how he carries himself. Speculation & perception rather than proven fact? Absolutely. But I'm suspiciious the guy is not someone who can be counted on.

That said, he absolutely made a couple nice plays Sunday. Hats off to him and I hope he proves me wrong. Right now, he still makes me very uneasy.

Didnt Dez also make a big catch on a slant.

It made me think of when we got TO, I thought for sure that was the bread and butter and game changing play he was going bring.

I was ECSTATIC to see Romo to Dez deliver that!!

So this whole not-as-funny-as-you-think-it-is gag of pretending that's the reason everyone was concerned about Ogletree is a little obnoxious.

The concerns about Ogletree's ability to be productive and reliable were legitimate, and they remain so. Personally I think he'll be adequate for the 2011 season.

The guy made some nice catches against the Jets that most folks won't appreciate because it doesn't look eye-popping on the stat sheet.

That crucial 3rd down catch him made on our first drive in the red zone was tremendous. Romo fired an absolute laser through a tiny window as a defender crossed in front of Ogletree. Ogletree had to sort of jump and corral it in which he did and secured the 1st down. Dez's TD grab doesn't happen without that.

I think folks just get enamored with whoever the newest toy is. In this case, 6th round pick Dwayne Harris. Some believe if Ogletree was going to show anything he would have shown it by now, but it doesn't always work that way. We all remember the things that were being said about Miles Austin before that fateful day in Kansas City a couple years ago.

If Ogletree can contribute 35-40 catches for 400-500 yards and a couple TDs this season as a 3rd (really 4th receiver option counting Witten), then he's shown something to me.

So under 20 yds of offense and we should be at ease?

Where was he during the time Dez was out?

No, I am not sold yet.

Red didnt call many 3 WR sets for some odd reason vs. the Jets.

I dont think KO got many plays as in the 3rd WR role, mostly when Dez went out. I liked when KO when wide and they moved Austin or Dez in the slot. I think that is a great way to challenge some zone coverages.
