I know it isn't as easy as it looks, but it seems Ogletree needs to practice dragging his feet near the sideline. On one play in the endzone, Romo just threw it too far. But on the last end zone play, it looked like he could've used better footwork or extended the ball over the pylon (without fumbling of course). Being a woman, I never played football, but this isn't the first game that better footwork by Ogletree on the sidelines could've resulted in a first down or touchdown. I hope he works on it.

Maybe but that play was a tough one.
I agree, but it seems to happen with him a lot. For those who played football, is this something he can work on?

Yeah its something we practiced everyday in college we would run sideline drills where you would practice getting your feet in bounds.

One thing I questing is I thought the goal line extended to infinity so if the ball passed the goal line even out of bounds it was still a TD.

Hmmm. I never looked at that way, but of course, the location of his feet would still be a factor even if that's true.

They changed the rule a few years ago. Either the ball has to cross inside the pylon before you go out of bounds or you have to have possession and be in the end zone, even if the ball is out of bounds. If his foot had landed inbounds in the end zone, it would have been a touchdown, even if the ball had crossed the goal line out of bounds. Or, if he had extended the ball inside the pylon before his foot landed out of bounds, it would have been a TD.

Under the old rule, it would have been a touchdown because his foot crossed inside the pylon and the ball crossed the extended plane of the goal line (out of bounds) before his foot landed out of bounds. They changed the rule after Michael Vick dove for the pylon, reached out one hand to reach inside the pylon and landed well out of bounds. Under the rules then, it was a touchdown.

That's a refinement to his game. Ogletree needs to work on the basics, like knowing the plays, before he bothers addressing this stuff

....and if Ogletree puts the ball on his left hand, fumbles it, or gets stripped, the message board would be looking for his private home address to kill him. They would also be lamenting, "why didn't he play it safe and protect the ball by putting it in his left arm?"

didn't he also catch a ball and drag his feet thinking he was toeing the line for a td when he was easily a foot out of bounds? Or did I imagine that

That's the one where Romo threw it too far, but like you said it seemed like he wasn't aware of where he was.

Robinson was wide open for an easy TD on this play. The Lions completely busted the coverage, but Romo locked onto Ogletree and never looked Robinson's way. Go look at it.

Having been to many TC's in San Antonio over the last few years, I can say they do practice that almost every day. They practice fades in the endzone, as well as catches at the sideline.

I think Ogletree on the verge of distinction in Dallas. Real suprised if he is here in 2012.

It's not practicing. He has the talent. He just does not have the drive. He's a lazy player. I think he's just simply content to be in the NFL.

How many times this season have we seen the ball thrown in his direction and if he simply stretches to grab it it's a catch, yet he doesn't try to do so? If it doesn't hit him in the hands or the breadbasket, he's not going to try and go get the football. I'm not surprised he doesn't make the effort to stretch over the goal line or tap his toes at the sidelines. He just doesn't have the desire to do so.

Miles and Dez will sacrifice the body for mere inches. Ogletree will not.

I don't usually hate on Cowboys players, but I want KO off of this team.

I take it that's what you meant? By the way, I agree.

bbgun or someone should put the still picture up of Robinson wide open on this play. It was going to be the easiest TD of the season. He is standing there waving his arms, and Romo locked onto Ogletree and never scanned the field. Robinson is standing almost in the middle of the end-zone, all by himself. You can see where the Lions busted the coverage, too.

The Lions busted the coverage. That was 4 points lost.

I've seen the video.

I'd put it up, but I don't have a clue how to do it.

The ironic thing is that in '09 against the Saints he did as good a job of keeping his feet inbounds on the sideline as any Dallas WR I've seen in years. He played a decent game against the Lions. I wish his head was on straight but I'm ok with him as our 4th WR. He has shown he can contribute in this league - even if in a limited fashion.

I didn't notice it during the game, but it's amazing how we had a chance to crush them like 44-3 or something, but blew it. Just amazing.
