You guys call yourselves fans?

I don't who is more worthless.

People that conduct themselves like Pac-boy Jones.
Or the losers that don't learn from his mistakes, enable him to continue them, praise him for his genetic "talents", turn the other cheek after repeated let-downs, and allow scum like this to go on enjoying a priviledged position that he takes completely for granted and stains the very sport we all love.

Actually, I do know.

If you've been a Cowboys fan anytime in the last 30 years, than you've rooted for some players who have done things far more questionable than Pacman Jones, and you've "turned the other cheek" by even being on this board showing your support for the Cowboys still. We've had convicted druggies and a whole gamut of other things occur. Pacman keeps getting charges for his misdemeanors dropped. In fact, if you're this infuriated by the ethics and character of players, don't watch professional sports all together because star athletes for teams that you route for are constantly acting like "scum" and "staining the sports you love".

In the end, Pacman has never failed a drug test, missed excessive practices, tanked plays or other things that constitute a bad teammate. If Dallas was able to get players like Tank and TO to buy into a team system and stay out of trouble, they certainly will be able to do the same with Pacman.

The bottom line, you're on his butt for things that he hasn't even been convicted for, and he has served his time for making it rain already.

Love me some Pacman!

I can't even remember off hand how many times this guy has been arrested, charged, or whatever. The difference between Tank, and Pacman - is pretty big. It's a pretty huge step in the wrong direction, IMO. Tank was obviously sincere about rectifying his mistake, and he stayed out of trouble to prove that. Pacman hasn't even done that.

Hell, Pacman hasn't even stayed out of trouble. I remember reading last year before the season started - he told Goodell he was a changed man.. only to be arrested a week later in a Strip Club or something like that. I HIGHLY doubt he is signed. I would definitely not be impressed as a fan - and it only opens our team up to MORE hate, insults, etc. I think this franchise needs to lead the league by setting an example... not giving an obvious thug like this another chance, only to let him burn the Cowboys.

I hope Jerry is a little more wise about this situation than the lot of us. Remember, Goodell has came on record and say that if there are a lot of discipline issues with ONE certain team - that he would surely consider punishing the team as a whole, and not just the player. It's a different league now, and especially with the biased Goodell running the show.. I'm pretty sure his punishment for any team would be something along the lines of the Patriots - losing a high draft pick. It's just not worth it; draft someone, and let this thug work at McDonalds.

might get flamed, but had Goodell been the commish in the early 90's we would have had a lot of suspensions in that era.

Am I missing something? When did PacMan become a good NFL CB? Have any of you people even watched him play?

Or are you talking about his punt return skills? I agree, he can return punts, but he SUCKS as a CB.

so you sign pacman ...

Everything goes well. He shows up in great shape, has a great training camp, and an even better pre-season. Everyone claims Jerry as the best GM in town. Those who rode on the Pacman bandwagon ridicules the naysayers with any chances they have.

Fans goes wild and crazy thinking we have another top 10 corner alongside Newman. And our secondary is now complete and unstoppable (don't forget the cowboys moved Henry to FS, broke the bank to re-sign Hamlin as the SS, and released RW) .

Week 6 rolls around, Henry's hobbling around on a bum knee + ankle (as his fragile self usually does around this time of he year). Pacman is arrested at a Dallas strip club. According to witness accounts, Pacman and his entourage threatened to "slap a ho," punched a stripper and shot 2 club attendants.

Goodell bans Pacman for life. Cowboys are forced to rely on Alan Ball, a 7th round pick, as the 2nd corner. Alan Ball plays like the 2nd reincarnation of Mario Edwards. All the while, RW is playing lights out for the Patriots, breaking all kinds of safety records left and right.

Posters on Cowboyszone rips Jerry into pieces. Crying why in the hell did they sign Pacman, as well as releasing a perennial all star in RW. Everyone on cowboyszone proclaim apocalypse and the end of Cowboys' season (even though there is 12 more weeks to go).

But they didn't forget to call Brady and the Pats overrated.

did i miss anything?

Well, OK you big lug. :D

Welcome to the Cowboys -- when he becomes available -- and put on the star and stay on the straight and narrow. But, you would know, PacMan, that if not it would be one and out. Out of the most glamorous and successful and storied and universally known team

Fellow ozoners, I verily say like the apostle to the throne, getting PacMan is a logical, if not palatable, building block.
To think otherwise is shortsighted. That is the NFL, my friends. Winning is all.

Yeah, PacMan is a thug.
But he'll be our thug.:)

And, also, we must admit, if Michael Irvin, Hollywood Henderson, Bambi, Septien wore the star, let's win and then decide the cosmic and philosophical aspects of a PacMan in Dallas.

Yea, I say unto you, barbarians at the gates, PacMan should wear the star:)

BAMBI????? Who are you referring to? Who did I miss??? The only Bambi that I remember from the 'Boys, was Lance Alworth, and I don't ever remember him causing any sort of problem whatsoever. Are you old enough to remember when BAMBI played for the Cowboys?

Yeah he has Alworth confused with Rentzel.

I don't think fans grasp how distracting negative publicity is to a franchise, particularly a young team that can't block out such distractions.

The Cowboys would constantly be answering questions about not only Romo and TO but now PacMan.

Besides, we don't need more "me" players or players with excess baggage.

I don't believe for a second that The Dallas Cowboys will even talk to PacMan Jones...he won't even get an invite to Dallas. Bringing in guys like TO and Tank is absolutely nothing like dealing with Pacman. JJ is not that hard up for a CB, and Pacman wasn't exactly a top CB in the league.

It won't happen...we will draft a CB in round 1 unless we open up the vault for a free agent. With Newman and Henry, it makes much more sense to draft a young guy early than to bring in Pacman. We still need 3-4 quality CB's to play with the better passing teams in the NFL like NE, so don't look for Henry to move to FS. Hamlin and Watkins are going to be playing FS for the Cowboys. We'll bring in another SS to back up Roy and compete.

It's not just me saying no to Pacman.....I don't buy any of the suggestions that JJ will even talk to the guy. He's not a misunderstood guy...he's not a guy like TO who had issues getting along with teammates and coaches but is a superstar...he's not a guy like Tank who was never a problem in the NFL and had one incident with the law to get straightened out. HE's a criminal, and there's no way he'll be in a Dallas Cowboys uniform...Jerry will not want to go down that road.

Since Pacman's rights still belong to the Titans and since he is still suspended from the league this subject is very premature.

That said, should he become a free agent, I wouldn't touch him with a 10' poll.

Call me shortsighted if you will, but he is NOT a building block for the future of our team.

2 outta 3 is bad when the 1 negates the other two.

He will not bring us a Super Bowl because you cannot count on him. The nightclubs in Dallas alone would distract him for to much.

Maybe if he learns how to be a decent adult then I would be okay but right now the guy is going to end up in prison for 20 years the way he is going.
