From the epicenter of truth, justice and the Armenian Way, Air Cowboys America, the 50,000-watt sentinel of supreme truth. In Farmers Branch where we cling to the past and iffin you don't like it, tell it to the Marines!

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Yeah, I know when you start pickin in the third round that the hype will be less in evidence after a draft. Yeah, we is criticizing the draft before the players even put on their running shoes in camp.

But there were touches of Jerra at work (at play?) in this draft.
Silly gestures.
He wants desperately to be thought of as a football guy. Much like us in this Zone exceptin we don't have the power to drive the franchise into the ground.
But when he passed on the second round, that had Jerra written all over it. He wants to be the shrew evaluator of talent.
JJT, not a favorite, made me laugh with the following: ". . . weird. What else would you call it when Jerry Jones, the NFL's biggest wheeler and dealer, decides there's not a single player in the second round of the draft worthy of wearing a blue star on the side of his helmet?
JJT hit the nail on the head.

Then there was the silly and unncessary pick of McGee. I guess he wants to sell more tickets to Aggies. Sigh. Nough said about that future NFL journeyman McGee.

LinebackerArama. You looking for a Ware in the rough? :laugh2:

C'mon Jerry, No names is great in the first and second rounds but the no-names in the late rounds live up to their late-round stature.

Good luck, Jerra, and ah hope your picks turn out to be great ones.
But with you at the helm, I dunno . . . .

I think this draft was pretty solid. We needed young competitive defensive and special teams players, we also filled some backup roles on offense.

The thread starting post might be the most annoying post in the history of the internet.

If you were trying to be cute or funny, you failed at both.

Too early to tell but its safe to say it can't be any worse than 2004 and possibly 2006 if Carpenter and Watkins don't make the roster.

Yep, pretty lame... from the beginning right down to the old canard that JJ only allows himself to evaluate the draft talent and the other coaches/scouts in the room are just there to make us all think that JJ isn't pulling the strings randomly. Yawn...

It looked to me like it was a STEPHEN Jones draft, not Jerry's. Stephen was the guy making all the calls IMO.

Do you remember the drafts from 1994-2003? Those were absolutely HORRIBLE.

We could have kept things going with the Triplets in place and a few stars on defense had we not absolutely blown every draft. It was clear who did the drafting when Jimmy was here.

I'd cut you off at 2001, 2002 was a talented class with character issues, Antonio Bryant and Derek Ross were thugs and cry babies but gifted athletes with first round talent, Bryant has revamped himself in Tampa Bay, Ross is in prison.

And coming out of OU who didn't want Roy Williams? He was awesome, Ronnie Lott good, and as a rookie he was great, something happened after Parcells got a hold of him and he hit a mental block that killed him.

So Dallas actually drafted well that year but intangibles took away the talent.

2003 was an awesome draft class: Terence Newman, Jason Witten, Bradie James and UFA Tony Romo.

I think it was Darren Woodson who was quoted in Jeff Pearlman's book as saying the veteran players in the 90s used to laugh at the pathetic draft classes Jerry Jones brought in, when it would be obvious from day 1 that the guys couldn't play.

I suspect that's exactly the sort of class we have here.

You're right, but I'd say 1994-2002. The 2002 class may have been talented, but how many of them stayed more than 2 years? Two of them? We picked players who were thugs and didn't work out. Granted, if we had picked other players they probably wouldn't have worked out either, but only one person remains from that class. Roy Williams had about 2 great years and sold a lot of jerseys. That's it.

Those guys were total jokes. I heard 3rd rounder Charlie Williams was so dumb he would hold up practice and even get things wrong in walk-throughs.

This draft wasn't weak it had a weak RB class and a weak DB class other than that it was strong.

And you exhibit neither the intellectural wherewithall to dispute nor the belief in your court convictions. I infer from your churlish girl behavior that you think this was a great draft?
Yes?
Well, Harold, tell us!

Tell us that this was a great draft. Cause it wasn't. Asider from the kicker and maybe that linebacker in the 3rd, nada.
I am sorry if I offended your sense of security with Jerra doing draft Sunday.

Sorry if I disrupted your one-man parade passing in review past Jerra.

For the sake of mankind, Harold, make a decent effort to state your case.
This horse bits and hollow rejoinders just don't cut it.
State your counterpoint and state it other than what an 8th-grade schoolgirl would say. With apologies to real schoolgirls who are allowed to be that way.

So, in closing, do not just disappear booty into the night like a scared dawg.
Be willin' to dog fight it and stand up for something.

Today you only stood up for petulence and shallowness. Your clan of the cave would be ashamed of you.

It's mainly because we trust the coaches/scouts on the Dallas Cowboys more than your pretentious ***. Anybody who plays a "character" on a message board is a loser by definition.
