Avoiding me as she usually does after a lose she finally worked up the courage to try and discuss the game over dinner. To follow up last weeks bombshell after the blocked punt with "I did not see that coming, is that even allowed" might be hard to do but boy did she nail it today. After picking at the mashed potato's for a while she asked me what happened today, in my typical way i just responded with a shoulder shrug not really wanting to get into the logistics of football right then and not with some one who really would not understand what I'm saying anyways but she would not give up and responded with some thing that actually made sense.

"I know Tony Romo was not playing but Brad Johnson does not pay defense right?"

wow I mean, it's simple for most of us, but I'm proud of her. Even more so I'm a little scared that the defense is So bad even my wife can pick up on it.

Fair weather fans usually describe fans who give up on one team to root for another at the first sign of trouble. I don't see how that applies to the original poster.

he is implying to a post I made earlier about realizing there were more important things to do on gameday then stay glued to the TV like play with your kids and be with your family.

I made the mistake of not being a fanatic and mentioning I may start doing other things then just living and dying with every play.

I guess spending thousands on tickets and travel will never make up for turning my back to the TV on game day. I said it before, it's a real shame you can't express your feelings on this board unless they are said in a "homer" voice with out being called out as a fair weather fan.

His name is Gerald, I'll have to find out how he picked out that name. he has been a member there for about 4 years so he has had it a while.

Dude. You posted a thread earlier about how you were 'done with the Cowboys for this year'. What do you expect? I think you're a quality poster, but you're being naive and hypocritical here.

Do you think its possible to post a thread thanking a player for his quality play right now without the 'homer' label being thrown around. Of course not. If I were to start one, I certainly wouldn't be shocked to be called as such.

For you to start a thread announcing that you've given up on the Cowboys this year because we're sucking is the definition of a 'fair weather fan'. You've made this bed before...posting after an emotional loss. Lie in it.

Will I be missing my family activities and scheduling things around the games anymore. No

Will i continue to watch when LIFE's schedule allows it. yes

Will I continue to buy game tickets and travel? yes

I really don't think that is giving up, I think it's prioritizing what's important in life to me.

It's ok, like I said, I expected the fall out when I posted it and I'm sure not all of it came across as I wished being that it was written in the heat of the moment. More then anything, this board is like therapy for me. I live in house with two women, two dogs, my neighbor is a Commanders fan and my parents who live behind me are Eagles fans. I have no where to turn! lol
