Would Jerra (or should) fire wade to keep Garrett?

Think about, if you were GM (but you're not) and you faced that dilemma.

Would you do it?

I think the future of the Cowboys hangs in the balance.
While Wade has some good qualities, I don't think they are in the same league.

Garrett seems to have the smarts.
Is young. He has proven himself this year.

Again, if it came down to it, keep Wade or Garrett?

:( That's a hard one, but I take Garrett. Which may or may not be the wrong decision.

What a ridiculous thread.

Instead of doing a girly drive-by, explain why it's ridiculous. Why would a question posed to fans about two coaches be ridiculous?
Why are you setting up yourself as judge.
Couldn't you just read and if it didn't suit you, just pass it up?
Why would you not add anything to the discussion instead of just sputtering some vague, inane comment?
Well, you get the point.
Contribute or not. Just don't take up real estate here with superfluous, throwaway comments like yours.
Give us your opinion.
Or not.

why will Wade get fired after taking the team to the playoffs with a 13-3 record ??

is like they say you just cant never please everyone :banghead:

Garrett has had one succesful seaosn as an offensive coordinator on a team loaded with talent at every position. He hasnt proven squat. No, I wouldnt let go of Wade to keep Garrett. The players have responded to Wade's leadership and demeanor. I would rather keep that chemistry intact and turn over the OC, knowing we have the talent to make any bum coordinator look good.

When exactly did Garrett prove himself? He is the OC of a team full of offensive power. He's done a fine job. When did he run the whole show?

Ok let's play along. It's seems more about the coach and the players to me.Parcells could not get it done with basically the same players and a different high powered ran offense under Sparano. So in comes Wade with basically the same players and a high powered offense under Red.Call me crazy but I think we would still be sitting where we are with Wade and Sparano without Garret.I'm in no way wanting to diminish Red's role here. But give me the same coaching staff we have now minus Red and I believe we are still sitting where we are now.I think people underestimate Ray Sherman's presence here.I also think the defensive changes are under appreciated as well.I love the heck out of Red and he has a bright future but let's not forget our offense was pretty good last year.Take Parcells and Todd Haley out of the equation last year and who knows maybe we would be sitting here defending our Superbowl championship.Hey don't shoot me .the guy wanted to play so I'm playing along.

Exactly!

JG has done a great job as an OC but he hasn't shown anything remotely close to running the entire team like WP has.

It is a ridiculous notion to fire a HC who just won 13 games to hire an OC who hasn't had any Head Coaching experience.

As an anti-idiotarian on this board I can only say....keep Wade Phillips. 13-2 does not lie.

We have to keep Garrett at all costs.

Especially if Sparano leaves.

No, not at all costs...not If that means making him HC now.

He IS however important to the teams success and I believe Jerry obviously will try hard to retain him.

:) Without going into the pluses or minuses of Wade,
It is heartening to see so many seeing Garrett as the future.
Garrett, because of his youth and smarts, is our future. Or should be our future.
It is no coincidence that Garrett is a rising star in the NFL.
Jerra is smart. Jerra wants to win it all with all his heart.
I think in the end, jerra will find a way to keep Garrett.
And all power to Wade, he's taken the team this far.
But there is no doubt that Garrett's work, this early in his career, has a lot of GMs envying what we have NOW.

:D

BTW: Wade has bent over backwards to praise the skills of Ireland, Sparano and now Garrett. Wonder if it is just plain old Wade being gracious or whether he just wants these superior minds out of Dallas.
Um, let's just say it is the former, for now.:)
