Welp if he runs a 4.4 my interest will certainly be piqued. Not that this staff knows what to do with a 2nd TE.

I've been trumpeting O.J. Howard for three years. He was underutilized in the receiving department by Alabama, but by doing so, he developed his blocking skills. I thought he would slip to the fifth or sixth round because his receiving skills weren't featured, and possibly could be a pick by the Cowboys, especially with one of our compensatory picks. But the National Championship Game basically elevated his stock. I wouldn't be surprised if he went high in the second round.
Having said that, I have misgivings about taking ANOTHER tight end in the second round.

If he's 6'6, runs a 4.4, and can block then i'm all for this move in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Looked like the second coming of Jordan Reed in the title game. I'm down with selecting him just don't see him matching value at 34

I see what you did there. Hanna also ran in the 4.4's but all he's used for is to block, which he does pretty good but .....

That never made sense to me either. He's a mismatch on a LB if his wheels still go sub 4.6.

O.J. Howard will shine in the NFL... He is a very good run blocker and has good pass catching ability.

Witten isn't going anywhere for two more years, at the earliest. As much as a Henry or Howard *could* help if utilized properly, there's really no expected value on this team.

Next year is the year to take one to groom, since there's no guarantee Escobar will get a 2nd contract.

A TE this year wouldn't really make any sense, so expect one in the 2nd.

OJ Howard is a freak of an athlete and about as a finesse player as they come. Many Bama fans simply can not understand how come Saban/Kiffin doesn't utilize him more inthe offensive game plan these past couple of seasons. I don't think its anything OJ Howard has done but just simply its not enough footballs to go around with all that talent down in Tuscaloosa.

Even with that said, OJ Howard never complain or gripe about the situation and has always done his job, and when his number was called (like against Clemson) he's always answered the bell.

OJ could come out for the draft this year especially with it being "a strike while the iron is still hot situation" but I can honestly see him coming back for his senior season, the question of the day is will Kiffin finally get him more involved inthe game plan next year

Are you using this in a positive or negative sense?

Witten is actually a hindrance to the team these days and not just because of his bad attitude and poor character.

Turn the page.

Sadly Witten will be here till he's 40.. Been wanting to trade him for the past few years but he's one of those untouchables and rightfully so, he's earned it.. Still he's a progress stopper that moves the chains and falls down...

With Witten on the decline and there being slim to no chance Escobar can even play next season, this team has to address the position at some point. If he is BPA at any time when we are picking, I am all for it. Just like with Treadwell though, I don't trust these coaches to effectively use him. They'll overthink it and use him as a decoy/blocker like they do with Hannah.
