Ok guys and ladies, free agent DE-LB's, whom could we get to help us if Greg Ellis is out for entire year.

I am thinking the way I saw him go down, and stand a little on it, its maybe not torn, but pulled or something, keeping my fingers crossed, without him, only other pass rusher we have is Ware.

At same time, say Greg is out just 3-4 games, that way Carpenter could play and get experience at OLB, etc, and when Greg comes back if not real bad, then boom. If you remember best I remember, Crayton had a bad ankle sprain or something like that last year and he was out like 5 weeks or so.

So, think positive guys, if Gregs injury is real serious, then this could make our young defensive linemen like Spears, Canty, Ratliff and Hatcher really come on.

I STILL WISHED WE HAD DRAFTED MANNY LAWSON THOUGH, HE IS A YOUNG WARE, AND EVEN FASTER.

Yes he is, but at same time, he is real green on defense,

I am talking about a veteran free agent at OLB/De that we could get if greg ellis is seriously hurt.

There are usually several pass rushing OLB/DE's sitting at home in November just waiting to be signed.

Haha.
Yeah I hear that too. Seems like there is an abundance of players who are proven to be able to get to the QB, so like you said, alot of them are just chillen at home.

Maybe we give good Ol' Carp a shot?

It's sad about Ellis. He's played well this season. I kinda feel sorry for him. He'll always be known to Cowboy fans as the guy we picked instead of Moss.

If he has a torn achilles, he'll never really be the same.

I say give Bobby C an opportunity....if anything else, just to shut up everyone that says, "We shoulda drafted (Fill in the blank) instead."

I think Bobby C, Hatcher, and Burnett can fill in nicely for Ellis. We'll at least have more speed and athleticism.

We won't pick up anyone.

Nor should we. Burnett has earned more playing time and Carp will only benefit from it.

We may have more mistakes a la Watkins, but play the kids.

I would find it very difficult to imagine our medical staff would be comfortable enough to let Ellis stroll back out to the sidelines on crutches and put weight on a season ending achilles injury.

He's going to be fine.

Memo to Bobby Carpenter: Get your head out. You're in the NFL. It's time to live up to the hype.

I agree with that.

At some point you just have to see if the young guys can play... and just accept their mistakes.

Contrary to our opinions to start the season and those expressed by the local writers recently, we will not be going to the playoffs on the backs of our defense.

Scary and yet exciting, we wil be going to the playoffs on Romo's arm and TO's ability to hang on to the dang ball IMO.

Play the kids, and lets see this offense can stop shooting itself in the foot. It can be very, very good if it does.

i say give carpenter a shot

I'd like to see Carpenter in on 1st and 2nd downs, and Hatcher in on 3rd down and nickel.

Post game show suggested that Al Singleton will probably move up into Ellis' spot, with the young guys behind. He's a guy everyone forgets about, but he was solid last year.

So more than likely it'll be Singleton/Burnett/Carpenter/Glymph. Move Hatcher to DE in the nickle.

oh well... Here's a note from polyanna. You had better hope Carp is ready and up for the challenge.
