If we do not fix the need problem then kiss the 2017 SD good by.They quit drafting based on need and it has paid off.
No, needs are addressed in FA, and BPA via the draft.BPA early rounds need later rounds
I hear ya, it can be bothNo, needs are addressed in FA, and BPA via the draft.
Picking BPA at a need position is picking needIf we do not fix the need problem then kiss the 2017 SD good by.
PS
Remember all the good picks that our GM did all these non SB years. We picked good in 2016 and guess what? We still where one and done, and that was picking BPA. The offense looked good but no cigar. So, This time lets pick BPA at the need positions and see what happens.
lol. When a club drafts late in the rounds...its a crap shoot. Getting good players at the 4th overall pick is easy...taking OL with your first round picks for 3 yrs is easy...take the best OL coming out of college...no big job. Lets see what the club does this year!! This is the one that really counts. Go defense....this BPA is baloney and the BPA is only an opinion. Means beans...especially after the first 15 players.
Just curious, what makes you believe (besides the Johnny football situation) JJ has been put on the back burner?I would give last year's draft a big affirmative. In fact, since they put Jerry on the back burner in the "War Room", we've drafted very well over the last five years. Now, the offense should be on the back burner. We need pass rushers & DBs. Any other position is icing on the cake.
I was about the say the same thing. They have done pretty solid the last few years in general. There have been a ton of OL busts in the first round.

There is something called free agency. It is used to "fix" need issues. If we do not fix the need problem then kiss the 2017 SD good by.

Our drafts have been increasingly effective over the last 5 years. Will McClay, the Dallas Cowboys Senior Director of Player Personnel, is the biggest reason for that. McClay was given much more power after 2013, when the team couldn't figure out if they would draft Sharrif Floyd, DL, who was the top player on their board. Shariff was seen as someone by the defensive coaches as not fitting into their scheme. It all worked out, as the team traded down, & took All-Pro Center Travis Frederick. JJ didn't like the confusion created by the episode, however, so he gave much more authority to McClay. He has been the main reason our drafts since then have been far above average. Read http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2016...-so-secret-weapon-in-the-personnel-department. JJ still has final say in all draft matters, but listens better to people much smarter then him when it comes to football. Thank God!!Just curious, what makes you believe (besides the Johnny football situation) JJ has been put on the back burner?
