How safe is it to use Limewire to download a few songs. I don't want to cheat the Music Industry...but I would like to find some songs.

Is there a better or safer way to get some downloaded music?

lots of viruses from what I hear. Some of the music sharing programs now have you pay for the music and I think they may be a bit safer

Limewire is rife with spyware and other nasty stuff. If you decide to use it, run a full scan afterwards.

You can buy/download individual songs from Amazon. Not all bands/cds as they do not have it for some older stuff. But a good deal of them you can download for $0.99 per song.

There you go, right there! Figure out torrents and there will be nothing more you ever need. Limewire and like p2p programs are SO yesterday it's not even funny. Those are from the ages of like Napster, which people basically stopped using after they got busted.

FTP & Newsgroups, are also another avenue you might want to explore if the whole torrent thing isn't for you. Though torrent is about the best there is, and ***BLOCKED***.org is one of the best torrent search engines I've found yet. Find music, movies, tv shows, computer apps, etc, etc. Basically any and everything you could want can be found through torrent. And another cool quality is the ability to see how many other people are seeding and downloading a particular program, movie or music file. The more you see, the more you can trust it. Not too mention people leave comments/feedback for individual torrents, telling the quality and concerns one might have with a particular download.

Then the "spyware/virus" risk that a lot find with the other options out there, I've just never found through torrents. Though, yea, they do exist if you're not careful, but if you do what I said and look for the safe ones a lot of other people are downloading and talking about, you should never have a problem. You also come to notice rippers by name and know which ones you can always trust.

I like p2p because if you want just one song, sometimes it's hard to find torrents. Depends on the situation, mostly. I use either p2p or torrents.

I don't care what others tell you, using Limewire is perfectly safe... absolutely nothing can go wrong...

Nothing can go wrong...

Nothing can go wrong...

How safe is this? I have been by there before and really want to download a copy of MS Office. The reviews look good but I'm just nervous as hell about some thing or some one taking over my computer.
