click on the light blue rectangle in the bottom right of any comment that says "Like" next to the "Reply" rectangle. If you don't see it maybe you are using a different browser or perhaps don't have permission to like a comment yet for whatever reason.

I believe you have to post a number of times. Have a conversation here. I show 13 posts and u have 2 likes. You can draw attn to another member like saying welcome @BoysFanInPhilly. If you don't have a like box yet one will appear soon.

I find the "Like" button unnecessary. What I need is the "Dislike" button. Much more useful.

The answer is that you should simply participate in threads and spend some time on the site, and your account will eventually be upgraded to full member status which will give you access to the LIKE feature as well as other features. There are multiple milestones that must be met in order to gain access to full member features and I change them regularly to prevent users from focusing on them rather than just participating on the site and earning member access naturally.
