I was dissappointed in:

1. Demarcus Ware- didnt see alot other than the speed rush
2. Fasano- Dropped one
3. Vanderjagt- on his FG he pushed it right, lucky he still made it
4. Adoyle- Why wasnt he starting? playing with 4th string
5. Watkins- Not much at FS, good ST

i agree on all of this, what has me worried was that vandrunk almost missed that freaking field goal. also adoyle was with like the 24th string. whats up with that. didnt we sign him to star??????

Vanderjat's FG looked like a carbon copy of the one vs the Steelers. He just happened to be closer, therefore it was good.

I would had penalties to your list, especially the O-Line's false starts, face-masks, et al.

Overall pretty good though so I'm pleased. At least there wasn't a 3rd and 50 tonight.

Am I correct that our run game blew? That is my concern.

i agree but only when jj was in there, but i think that had to do with no OL blocking. Barber made his own holes so he actually look better than jj. if this continues Barber could be our RB.

Ware didn't play much.
Fasano did drop one. It's going to happen.
Vandy made the kick......right? Don't touch the panic button.
Adolye didn't start because we showcased others for trade bait, per radio announcers.
Watkins isn't our starting FS, Davis is. He will get more playing time as we on into preseason.

The good news about the bad news is that this is the type of game Parcells actually loves--we won but enough mistakes for him to harp on the team about. I look at it this way tho--we're doing a much more optimistic assessment after this game than we were a year ago after the first preseason game! Yes, there are still a lot of areas to be worked on, but we definitely are in the vicinity of how the other NFC East teams played this week. And it's nice to be able to be cautiously optimistic rather than full of dread.

Parcells sasid after the game that there were players thathe had charted for more playing time to get good look at and not see so much of guys that he was pretty sure of. I think he has a good idea of wht he's got in Ayodele. Look at the bright side, if Ayodele actually was our 4th string LB and we dominated on the defensive side of the ball like we did tonight, this defense would be unstoppable!

As for Ware, he's the player I'm LEAST worried about in the front seven. I don't know if Walter Jones was playing or not, but he's one of the best (if not THE best) LTs in the game with some of the sacks that the others were putting up, I would guess that some of the success would have to be attributed to the attention paid to Ware. I won't know for sure until tommorrow (when I can see the entire broadcast),but if I have to trade a couple of Ware sacks too get a couple from Singleton or Ellis then I'll take that trade. Ware will get his numbers, it's just nice to think that he's a good enough player to create opportunities for players that the blocking scheme may have overlooked. A sack's a sack, I don't care what numbered jersey is behind it.

Watkins? Not sure how many opportunities the kid had to make plays when the opposing offense only posts 235 total yards.

Agree with all but Watkins...I thought he did a pretty solid job at FS...Not spectacular but solid.

Oh and as for Ayodele I think BP just wanted to give Shanle a look see with the first team because he ahs been around for a few years and Bill might be thinking about cutting him...Same for Kenyon Coleman BTW.

9 penalties for 70 yards should be tops on the list.

No running game should be second.

I'll give you an amen on that.

The penalties dont resonate as much through espn's gamecast, I'm sure that looked bad live.

The penalties didn't bother me as much since no one was making multiple mistakes and we were trotting out a lot of different guys. Yeah it needs to be cleaned up before regular season but not a big factor for me in the first preseason game of the year.

I'm right there with you on the running game though...we need to see better out of that.

Flo's 15-yard wipeout of a 10 yard completion looked really bad even on NFL.com's gamecast.

So our running game stunk huh. I did not get the game aired so that sucks, but anyway. Is JJ trying to hit the hole too fast again?

Pretty much.

And he continues to prove that he can't gain yards unless there's huge holes there to run through which is one of the main reasons why I prefer Barber over him any day of the week.
