Ok, would it be dumb if we drafted Noah Spence?

If you asked me a few days ago, I would have said yea, but after hearing about the 20 passed drug tests, I gotta admit, I'm open to taking him at #34.

That's about a year's worth of test, so clearly he does not have a problem and seems to be over the immaturity. May still be dumb since every DE we have seems to be facing a 4 game ban, but he's at least shown he can over come his issues, unlike Greggory.

I'm all for it. I don't expect Gregory to play another down for Dallas but I was okay with the pick at that time too. Getting pressure on the QB is a precious enough commodity I'll always take chances on players.

S. Jones said he is not off the board, he is far removed from his issues and has taken steps to hold himself accountable.

They are not taking him at 4 but if he slides close to 34 he may be in the conversation.

A strong maybe. Less of a risk than Ray or Gregory were.

Would almost certainly consider it in the 2nd. He has the talent, so if his brain is screwed on right he could be a huge player for us

If he is there and Carl Joseph isn't i'd take him. A month ago he was wanted by some at #4.

He makes a ton of sense at #34 if he makes it there.

Yeah, at 34.

I wonder if the team doesn't like his size. Broaddus has intimated the team doesn't have much interest. We all know he can pass rush, but most people see him as an OLB, not a DE.

A little like Gregory in more ways than one

Honestly I don't think it's going to happen either way. Cowboys aren't drafting a guy with drug issues with Lawrence and Gregory on the team. Just don't think they do that....

I like him a lot better at 34 than one of the so called qb prospects that are getting mentioned.

I think Dallas has that same outlook right now that they did when they avoided Randy Moss. Gregory and Hardy have caused given them publicity black eyes. Lawrence feels confident about his appeal, but he is still currently set for suspension until he proves otherwise. Garrett's "Right Kind of Guy" shtick has even become a joke on this forum.

I think they avoid Noah Spence like the plague because they feel that they have to.

Third round is OK.

I would draft him.

He was taking X. I don't see that being some type of longterm problem.

Also, he implemented harsh drug testing on himself and he has shown the results of those tests to all 32 teams.

I would definitely draft him in the 2nd.

I normally say no no no to drug issue players.

However it seems....SEEMS like he has learned his lesson. He has been tested regularly and I don't think he failed a test at the combine.

Could it happen again...possibly...but I don't seem him the same as a Randy Gregory who continued to fail tests, failed at the combine and failed again after being in the league. He has been on a steady course. It Seems like Spence has learned.

Nor did we see anything about this guy doing other stuff like getting a DUI before the draft and the like.

I don't see the red flag with him; he was caught and he's been doing very well with his second chance.
