Last week a 5th grade girl was abducted here in Tucson and they caught he guy who did it. He hit the girl in the head with a ratchet he grabbed out of the back seat. The girl IDed him and he has admitted to the abduction.
I want to emphasize, he is not the person I am calling a moron here. He is not a moron, he is a monster.

TUCSON - The man who police say admitted to kidnapping a 5th grader last week as she walked to school with her sister, will stay in jail without the possibility of bail. Steve McPherson was in court Wednesday for a bond hearing.
After hearing testimony, a judge denied it.
Prosecutors argued McPherson should remain behind bars to protect the community, while a public defender argued there was no sexual assault, no criminal history, and no threat.
The father of the girl McPherson admitted to kidnapping was in the audience and tells News 4 that he is relived the 32 year old will remain locked up until trial.
"The public is safe that he has no bond, thank you," says the girl's father who didn't want to be identified. He tells News 4 both girls are doing fine and will seek counseling.
At the time of McPherson's arrest, inside his home, officers found child pornography and what they're calling a "fantasy letter".
News 4 received a phone call from a man who claims that letter about forcing sex on an underage girl, was written about his eight year old grand daughter.
The man is a long time friend of McPherson, who despite the letter is standing by him.
Patrick Crook says he has known Steve McPherson for 20 years.
"He's always at my house. I had him and his mom over for dinner just the night before," says Crook.
He's talking about the night before McPherson's arrest and admission to kidnapping a 5th grade girl. Crook recently visited his friend in jail.
"He confessed, he admitted that he did it. I even asked if he hurt the girl he said yeah he hit her, which to me was surprising, as big as he is, he's the most gentle person I've even known," says Crook.
But in court today, prosecutors say different.
"He is a substantial danger to the community," says an attorney.
An undercover Tucson Police detective testified that when police stopped McPherson, he was leaving his home with two bags. In them, a bloody shirt and a bloody ratchet. McPherson also tried to change his appearance by cutting his hair.
As for the fantasy letter detectives found, Crook is certain it detailed fantasies McPherson had about his grand daughter. The eight year old spends a lot of time with McPherson, but Crook doesn't think his friend acted on his urges.
"Even if he did, I'd still be willing to stand by him, the boy is not evil, he's not a predatory beast, he's sick. I'm tired of people looking at him like he's a monster, he's not a monster," says Crook.
Crook adds, if his friend is convicted and put in prison, he'll continue to support him.
