I'm still trying to figure out who I'm pulling for. Never been an OU fan but as a Horns fan I would like to see the Big 12 teams do good in all the bowl games after all it only benefits the overall conference. On the other hand all the trash coming out of the OU fans regarding Texas has left me with mixed feeling in this game

You'll find much more trash aimed at the Sooners then the other way around.

I guess that is in the eye or hear of the beholder. As I said I have mixed feeling. I know I'll be pulling for all the Big 12 teams to win this Bowl season just not sure about OU. One reason I may is because of comment by Tebow saying how he would like to face a big 12 defense as if it was an easy task

It'll be interesting to see the "best offense in college football history" go up against one of these mythical SEC defenses.

Not taking anything away from defenses in the SEC, but UF hasn't seen an offense like the one they are about to see.

I think both UT and UO would have great success against the Gator D.

I was not beside myself with "oh-no's" after watching the Florida/Alabama game. That Florida defense is solid. It is not however unstoppable.

Oklahoma is no Alabama. We dont have a single #1 WR. We have about 4 excellent WR's. Pick your poison.

Demarco Murray will be ready to roll on Florida
Chris Bown showed you what he brings
Then there is Madu.

Im not staying Oklahoma will roll Florida, but listening to talk radio and BSPN, you would think that Oklahoma shouldn't bother getting off the plane.

The pole shining of Tebow is unbelievable. Yes he is a great QB. Is he better than Colt and Sam this year? I don't think so.

I think Colt is more important to his team than Tebow is. Colt made Texas Texas this year.

They also act like the Sooners can't do anything about the Florida offensive attack. Look - The Big 12 runs much of the same offense that Florida brings. I know Texas and Oklahoma won't be gah-gah over the Florida offense. They face mobile athletic QBs every Saturday just about.

When has Florida played an offense like Oklahoma? I don't think they have.

What are you going to stop? The pass? Fine - Murray and that big Oklahoma line will put a hurting on you.

Call me a Big12 homer, fine. I don't care.

I just don't think Florida is going to be some unstopable force and it's sick having to hear about it everytime you want to watch some football.

The SEC orgy is constantly overblown right now.

First, a congrats to OU and their fan's on making the championship game. Good luck.

Second, I like Tebow. He's arguably not the stereotypical QB, but that's precisely what makes him stand out. I love his character off the field as much as I appreciate his talent and leadership on.

Lastly, forgive me for not falling in-line with the "I root for all Big-12 teams because I want to see our conference do well" crowd.

WHY, in gawd's-name do I want to root for success and national publicity for a DIRECT COMPETITOR IN THE RECRUITING WARS!!?? That, has NEVER made sense to me.

My HS coach used to send the team captains to the coin toss with 3 simple instructions.

1)Uncover your head as you approach the officials and your opponents.
2)Shake hands respectfully with both.
3)Wish your opponents a "good game", nothing more. Wishing them "good luck", is like saying, "Please kick my ***".

EXCELLENT POST!!!! If you're a fan of UT and pulling for OU, then either you aren't a true fan, or you're just completely ignorant to the rivalry that is Texas/OU.

I understand that people want what's best for the conference, but I want what's best for the state of Texas. OU winning the National Championship is the worst thing possible for Texas college football.

I am starting to worry about OU in this upcoming NC game. I don't think their defense is all that bad. They are inconsistent, but have the potential to be great. Their offense is the best I have EVER seen, and I've been watching, and attending college football games for several decades now. I have also punched my ticket to Miami because I want to see this monster of a matchup in person.

It will be a true battle of titans. We won't be getting some roody poo Big 10 team that just coasted through a pissant conference.

Now that the Texas/OU arguments are behind us, I'd just like to say that the two top teams in the Big XII are better than the top two teams in the almighty SEC.

Florida better watch it. OU's defense would perform much better in the SEC due to lack of potent offenses. However, I think UF will definitely give OU's great offense a hard time.

I truly believe that OU's offense is the best of all time this year. They have great talent at every position. Their up-tempo, high octane hurry up is different than any other in college football. I think their high speed offense is all they have been lacking over the past few years and that is why they have struggled in the BCS.

My prediction in this game is UF 45, OU 35. ;)

the only reason im event thinking of rooting for OU is in case we can get a split championship with them. i guess ill know who ill cheer for better after the texas/ohio state game and i read some stuff from writers that vote on wether they would vote texas number one or not.

Regardless of what some Texas fans think about Mack not running up scores, I think based on what you state, he needs to lay the hammer down in this game and score as many points as he can. You guys need to make a statement in that game.

Reason I want to see the conference do well has nothing to do with recruiting is has to do with computer rankings down the line. When a conference shows they have 4 or 5 contending teams in their conference it makes those wins within the conference stand out more. SEC is a prime example because voters know if you win in the SEC you have really accomplished something. Big 12 is gaining the same reputation as the best conference and the bowl games will only prove that even more

ya, i think we can beat them up pretty good if the defense plays well, i dont think they can stop our offense, but you just never know, they have a history and maybe its starting to become like a new mini rivalry. i kinda wish we played ohio state every year, those two games a couple of years ago while i was at UT were a HUGE deal!!!
