We had 4 centers nagy, Klow, costa and bern

Just saying all 4 of those guys came up lame

And for quite some time now.

But our TE gets hurt and the actions are swift and decisive.

Anyone else not seeing a scary double-standard here?

They tried to bring in one he failed the physical so they did take an action. If their was another one out there they liked they would have brought them in at center. The center position in FA right now is bare they are waiting for cuts.

Geesh, Stash, this is the end of a short Training Camp period and just the beginning of preseason games. I bet if one checked with their pedicurists, they all had hang nails as well. If one is looking for that alone.

Costa played acceptable through the second half of his last season.

Bernadeau has practiced for four complete seasons at the NFL level, and was a team's 1st backup for those four years.

Arkin, had never snapped the ball in his career, and now, went 2/3rds of a game successfully do that under game conditions. Now, for a first time, that is impressive. That will grow will experience, as to doing additional responses from that first job requirement. Getting it to the quarterback successfully. Under game conditions, that still is the most important, to start a play correctly. Blocking will come back into the picture, as Arkin isn't a woos in the interior.

The Kansas City Chiefs placed tight end Martin Rucker on injured reserve.

Rucker is a 6-foot-5, 251-pounder former Cleveland Browns fourth-round draft pick from Missouri.

Rucker played in 12 games with two starts with the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has recorded two receptions for 17 yards.

Rucker joined the Chiefs as a free agent this offseason.

There is more than just a slant involved...but the storyline and how that projects is far from a finished product right now. But there is a developing strength as well.

One can't move on from what is to be established in the Dallas interior. So fretting in the mean time plays little utility in a future picture there. But there is still strength there to watch.

Heck, after signing Carr, what? You expected to accept a lowered standard overall for the team, and not drafted Claiborne but the top interior lineman in this past draft. The one sitting the bench right now for Pittsburgh?

I would consider someone who has actually played center more 'viable' than what they're doing.

But that's just me.

This is correct. They will put him on IR unless a team wants to claim an injured player like New England did with the Giants TE Ballard.

Doubtful he gets claimed. There was another OL player -- 2nd rounder -- who has been injured his first two years (like Nagy) who passed through last week.

I think the issue here is that there are some TE out there that are in shape and ready to play. Not so for the Center position

There is more than just a slant involved...but the storyline and how that projects is far from a finished product right now. But there is a developing strength as well.

I'm not interested in a 'wait and see' approach in the hopes that someone shakes free right before the start of the season.

The same 'someone' who will take several weeks if not months to get up to speed on what you're trying to do offensively, to say nothing of the lack of cohesion on your offensive line.

Yep, the waiving of Nagy sure opened that can of worms up, alright...and Nagy will remain in the mix after he goes IR for the year. Go figure not planning for a future now.

Nagy could use some more bulk. He gets another off-season to get that. He'll come to camp next year in the mix as a backup C-G.
