Yes, he should probably buck the chain of command. That's a good idea
No, initiative is always a correct procedure...but you were trying to pee on the parade from the start.
That always makes for enrichment in discussion.
So, you are saying the 'creep' should just get all lazy and expect the organization to be his 'momie.'
That works well....

Just going by your line of reinforcements.
Let's just get a reference going, not included previously, despite the crap tossing....just how long has Miles Austins hamstring problems been lingering?
Didn't Nagy's injury happen first, last year?
Now come on back with an applied version of Company line as an argument in motivation of a player to actually overcome.
Maybe you can further enlighten with the role of a very motivated athlete, as to recovery time and skill level returned to, as compared to someone who just goes through an organizational level of recovery.
Perhaps you can throw in reovery successes of a MLB Tommy John recipient that was worked hard following surgery. I can pre-empt discussion here. First, MLB, for obvious reasons, hasn't accumulated medical data to show what has actually been successful following similar operations. As to workload intensity as well as rest required to what degree, even following that surgery.
On shoulder rehab, very few have survived a Tommy John surgery for long, with a high intensity workload was resumed immediately. Wonder what that means for an athlete and following strictly a 'company' approach to his own career?
I wonder if there is a carry over sense of a franchise, in the NFL as well, to get it's money's worth now, rather than developing out a person's career to his advantage?
Yep, you have to be on target here, company line at all costs to the players...you go!
Wonder what the Washington MLB team will be doing with Strasburg now?
Oh, don't worryabout trying to discard that situation, and discussing it here...that will play out no matter what distraction is submitted to discount it's involvement in a discussion here.
Better yet, come back with Tommy John wasn't in discussion and you didn't understand the comparison in your context...at it was all garbled. Better yet, blame it on Jerry.
