Actually, the Offense line will look better with Romo in there.

OL looked STUPID!

Columbo let MICHAEL STRAHAND come in unblocked.

Rivera let Arrington do the same on the 1inch line.

I think the OL coach ( mr. running game coordinator) needs a talking too cause this unit is way too predictable in its blocking schemes and really are the only thing holding this team back from a strong season.

I think Gurode is too stupid to pick up these blitzers. With Romo in there he can actually make these pre-snap reads.

I dont see how the Oline could look much worse, they were pathetic and got manhandled all the way around. The sad thing is even as bad as they played Dallas had chances to get back in the game, then shot themselves in the foot with plays like Bledsoe's int before half and Romo's int with 4:30 left. Its not just pass protection the run blocking was awful as well.

It's pretty clear that the fixing job BP and JJ did on our line last off season didn't help. We can only hope it gets addressed more seriously for next year.

Until we can effectively pick up stunts and twists this line is going to look like boys among men.

Even more of a reason to find out what we have in Romo right now.

If Romo is the long term answer at QB, then our 1st round pick is obvious. We need Oline help. We need to pick up a couple of solid free agents as well (Kosier has been okay, but I have yet to see Fabini and Riviera seems to look a step behind).

At the beginning of the season, the offensive line was not very offensive and was actually looking like a ray of hope. However, it is a crying shame that these guys apparently aren't smart enough to recognize and stop stunts and twists from a defensive line. I would rather get 15 holding penalties a game than to see overrated players like Levar Arrington get a free shot at our quarterback. If we are going to hold Bledsoe accountable for his red zone mistakes, then maybe it is time to put Marco Rivera out to pasture.

Actually, I think it's a combination of three things:
1. Lack of ability
2. Poor coaching
3. Gurode's inability at making the calls

I'm not sure which is first--I'll keep it in the order mentioned.

Does anyone think that something might be wrong with our blocking scheme in general? We consistantly have guys coming totally free. These aren't delayed DB's coming either. We're talking linebackers and even defensive ends coming in.

How in the world do you forget to pick up the end? You know, they guy that lines up right across from you.

Either our players are just mentally incapable which very well may be the case, or our blocking schemes and coaching are a problem.

For all the high draft picks we spent on defense, it's pathetic how we couldn't stop the Giants today. I keep waffling back and forth on Zimmer, but I really think it's Zimmer. Our blitzes are vanilla...our D-linemen play read and react...different scheme...same ol stuff...

You can't "coach up" people who can't play. They can beat the Houstons of this world, but lay down like the French against good opponents.

The problem is they didn't take this seriously enough. A journeyman in Kosier, a project in Columbo, and not drafting an offensive lineman until the 7th round basically means status quo. And status quo is not good enough when your starting quarterback takes a lot of hits and your maybe new starting quarterback takes too many chances with the ball. We should have put Steve Hutchinson on the top of our free agent list and signed him.

Columbo picked his man up. Julius blew it.

Julius Jones may as well of not been in there for protection. He whiffed it big tonight. When he did figure out who his assignment was, he just got in the way. I wouldn't call it blocking.

On the safety, we could say that Julius blew it, but Arrington was there before Julius could step up to block. Arrington was there before Bledsoe was even out of his 3 step drop.

What befuddles me is how every other team knows our snap counts better than our own linemen.

Yea, he had that timed absolutely perfectly. I dont know if anyone is really to blame for that, the guy made a good play.

Having said that, it was a terrible call to make an RB responsible for a blitzer up the middle inside your own 1 yard line...:bang2:

I said earlier that the offense will be dumbed down with Romo in there, and I think that could be a good thing for our OL. Its one thing if they're just getting physically beaten like they were last year, but this year seems to have an inordinate amount of mental lapses and guys going unblocked. I think the system is too complicated, or they're trying to retain and prepare for too many blitz packages during the week to prepare for what teams were going to throw at Bledsoe. Aside from Romo's escapability, I think getting back to basics might be just what the Dr. ordered for the OL.
