I think we took a good step forward with the drafting of Smith and the cutting of Bigg and Colombo. But we still have a lot of work to do. Flipping Smith to LT next year will help cause Free is a RT pretending to be a LT. I think we will be fine at the bookends for years to come. HOWEVER, the interior of the line is simply awful. All 3 spots need an upgrade. Consider this:

LG- Holland. We cut him in training camp and he remained unemployed for quite a while. Not a single team in the NFL was interested in even giving him a look or making him a backup. He is our starter.

C.- Costa. An undrafted free agent. Yes, Romo and Austin are stars but they are the exception to the rule. Not a single team thought enough of him to draft him, even as a backup. He is our starter.

RG- Kosier. The very definition of a journeyman. Even in his prime he was only a slightly above average pro and now he is past his prime.

I think the weakness of the line is really hampering the play calling. Would love to see a heavy emphasis on upgrading the line in the offseason. I am so amazed that Jerry has ignored it for so many years.

Agreed. Especially on the center. Costa is embarrassingly bad.
