Just a thought that has occurred to me.

I realize some injuries have occurred to Martin and Leary..

and now Witten.

But I'm curious what the rest of you are thinking about what is going on.

I realize Murray being gone maybe is exposing that the OL isn't as dominating as we all were lead to believe.

Something is not clicking like last year and I'm not sure what the real reason is.

Anybody?

I will wait for the full OL in full health is going together for a couple of quarters, before passing that judgement

Leary got hurt in the game one and Martin is still not the same self. His neck is not 100%, Free is also probably not all OK

I'm thinking that Leary is a huge part of our offensive line's success, and that perhaps Martin's neck is hurting just a little more than he's letting on.

I think our OL will be fine. Did all five of them play together in the preseason at all? Might just be banging off the rust.

No our line is banged up. Zack is playing thru neck issues and the other guard spot is a revolving door..

But the edges are holding it down in the passing game, weird how that works sometimes...

The OL played great in game #1. Lack of rushing yards because we were playing from behind entire 2nd half.

The OL played about the same against the Eagles as they did against the Eagles last year.

Let's see what happens this week. Too early to judge imo.

Of course we're missing Callahan, he is a quality coach. The Oline's success is like a fine wine. But if you mess with the recipe even a little it will affect the taste, sometimes it's unoticeable and other times it's expensive vinegar.

1. Other teams are a little smarter and on to our strategy from last year.
2. We are missing Calahans leadership.
3. We're not as healthy as last year.
4. I think our offense is just a little out of sync and will find its timing.
5. The success of our run game depends on the success of our passing game and vice versa and both look average at this point.

I'm not completely sure but it's certainly not unreasonable.

It is late and I am tired but if I added correctly from:
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/

First two games of 2014:
RBs Rushing Yards - 338
RBs Receiving Yards - 52
QB Sacked - 7 Times

First two games of 2015:
RBs Rushing Yards - 189
RBs Receiving Yards - 221
QB Sacked - 3 Times

Comparatively speaking, the QB has been sacked less than 50% and the RBs have over 4 times as many yards receiving. However, the rushing total is down from from 338 to 189 but overall production from the RBs has increased from 390 to 420 total yards receiving and rushing. Is there a problem?

Thanx for the numbers.

It sort of answers my question.

Obviously Linehan is trying to use the RB in open space with passing more than last year.

Which is probably smart since teams have had time to study what we were doing in the off-season.

But it still seems to me the OL misses whatever Callahan was doing with them because generally last year..

they seemed to get stronger as the game wore on.

Not so much right now.

But injuries have been mentioned and it maybe more than we have wanted to believe.

We'll see.

Callahan is rated as the best run blocking coach in the NFL. I was one of those that wished that we resigned him to a contract. I think he deserved it.

Its no wonder now that the Skins have revived their running game - averaging over 100 yards. per game.

So yes. We miss Callahan.

I disagree. If it weren't for Escobars fumble and 1893 4th quarter offense penalties, we would have run it right down their throat. IN FACT, we were running it right down their throat (I believe it was 4-5 running plays in a row a multiple first downs) when we got the penalties and turnovers. It was CLASSIC 2014 domination of a tired defense that derailed itself with mistakes.

Forgot to compare receiving yards from non RBs. The productions not even close. More importantly how many TDs total?

Preach on brother! No one's listening anyway.

Bad thing is we probably will not get an answer to the question.

Teams will load up because they know we can't make them pay in the air.

But based off a limited two game sample of Dallas and Washington's production, I would say yes.

Linehan is doing what he did in Detroit, whereas last year was like what he did in Minnesota.

Of course he's being missed. He's the best OL coach in football. How much he's being missed is yet to be determined.

Those facts are hard to follow during a span of two games. Especially with 19 team penalties this past game. It's the front of the season, and they actually played together in the Pre Season very little in game conditions. Hey, they are 2 - 0, and have a good chance of doing well against Atlanta. With another injury to a defensive lineman, let's see how that unit does against a strong passing game.

Their defense isn't very good.
