The QB needs to do the following:

-make sure the play call will work
-make Route adjustments if necessary
-recognize what front/how many men in the box
-recognize what coverage the secondary is in
-pick up who is/isn’t blitzing
-communicate blocking assignments to the Oline/backs/TE’s
-know where he will go in his progressions of WR’s based on what he sees in the D
-And probably at least a couple of other things...

Bottom line is I don’t believe Dak is doing all of this well, nor do I think he is capable right now. And this isn’t a thread to bash Dak, because there are a lot of NFL QB’s that can’t do this within 3 years in the league. Especially coming from a fairly gimmicky college offense. We can all see that Dak can make the throws and move the offense when everything is perfect, unfortunately that rarely works out. And I don’t believe our OLine is blocking any worse than the average NFL oline right now either. There’s a bigger, more systemic problem.

So what’s the solution? Wish I had an answer...but I think TFred coming back and helping with calls and blitz pick up could be 1 partial solution. The next would be for someone to essentially hold Dak’s hand pre snap. McVay does/did this with Goff. Call the play quickly and then he has a certain window of time in Goff’s headset to go over what he sees.

If there isn’t major changes made in the coaching staff soon, there needs to be changes with how the offense is run completely. Is it too late for that?

I agree, Dap is either not capable, or just plain can't do all those things....kid has the arm to make plays, but he is just not seeing the field,, and that idiot OC we have along with clapper seem to think he is?

The guy is a bus driver, at best...and can't overcome adversity, regularly. Just call him another status quo and short pass attempt...a west coast offense is not even the design, but function?

People saying this OL “sucks” need to watch some other games and actually look at what crap OLs look like. Car, Nyg, and Sea all have far worse OLs than we have. Yeah because of age, decline, injury, and turnover this isn’t the #1 OL in the league anymore. But it’s still top 10 probably and if Fred comes back and plays like he once did it’s top 5 or higher.

So I ask, if Dak can’t get it done with a top 5-10 OL, what would he look like if he had to work with what Cam and Russ have in front of them?

Not sure they are playing top 5-10 at the moment, but you are correct that there are a good # of teams are moving the ball on offense with an OLine equivalent or worse than ours. OLine shouldn’t be getting a free pass because they could def be playing better, but they are not the reason this team is losing. There’s way more to it

 amazing sounds exactly the same as last year when you all threw Dez under the bus

Yep, Dez's biggest problem was in his head. Working with an inept QB. He was trying to do too much when the ball came his way, caused drops and fumbles.

straight from Bleacher report, "We're to the point where it's fair to wonder if Prescott has the yips when it comes to throwing the ball downfield. Coming into this week, Prescott had an average of 2.94 seconds to throw the football—one of the longest pocket times in the NFL, per NFL.com. He nevertheless ranked near the bottom of the league in passing yards among starters and dumps the ball off more than most quarterbacks."

And where were you when Romo was running for his life playing behind some of the worst Olines?

Somethings could make it easier. Having more motion pre-snap, more misdirection and counters, run more RPO, use the no-huddle from time to time, spread the offense out more often, making better use of Zeke and Tavon. Work in more quick throws, quick 3 step drops, plan for 3-4 deep throws a game as long as there's a 1on1, let it fly and let the WR make a play. We keep doing the same things over and over that don't work or have limited success and we stop doing things that do work.
