Like they said, and most of us agreed, the game is won in the trenches and that would be the OL and the DL.....need both units to win that battle.

Yep. Perfect example are the Eagles and their success, and the Bucs and lack of success. Throw in the Rams. But the flashy players get the credit.

Just say the OL is playing great. The tackles are dominating the run game and playing solid in pass pro. McGovern and Biadaz have been better then advertised as well. Zack is the Goat.

We all know who the mvp of this team is. Micah changed the whole culture and attitude of the organization. We were historically bad defence not very long ago.
We need an upgrade over McGovern a few games prior to the playoffs. We need Tyron at 100% at LT. Tyler will slide into the LG spot. Use Peters as a 6th O lineman with McGovern as the FB in certain situations.

If this new improved O line plays up to it’s potential it can be REALLY good, if not dominant. We need this to happen because we will be playing some really good DL’s( Philly, Whiners, TB ) in the playoffs.

Can Tyron stay healthy for this playoff run?

Our defense will ultimately make or break us in the playoffs. That’s been pretty much the case every time the Cowboys make the playoffs. The main reason they’ve lost playoff games over the years has been the defense. We either can’t contain and pressure a great QB or we can’t stop the run. Offenses have been able to impose their will on us. We’ve had issues with tackling and being dominated upfront.

The defense has been the MVP. We’ve won a number of games this season including four wins with a backup QB because of our defense. Not trying to take anything away from our OL it’s been very good, but our defense has been one of the best in the league this season and our pass rush has been second to none.
Our D has been very good, but they DEFINITELY, need to continue to slow down the run, or our playoff run may be short lived. Hankins, Gallimore, Bohannan and company need to continue to prove they can contain the run. We can’t rush the passer in the playoffs, if we can’t slow down the run!

Go Cowboys!

Tyron is the big question mark. If he's playing at a high level, he's pretty much the replacement for McGovern. Because Tyler will move in to his spot. Then we have that Yeti Peters. Dude looks like a mountain. If Tyron can stay healthy, we can match up with the Eagles OL.

There’s no question if we can’t stop the run it will do us into the playoffs. Everyone we face is going to try and pound the ball at us. The best way to avoid our pass rush is to run the ball.

I disagree. Just as often, our highly rate O lines, have played way below their potential in the playoffs. Romo’s teams alway struggled to score points in the playoffs because the O line under performed.
In the playoffs we need the O line and the D line to show up! Actually, with the competition we will be facing in the playoffs, ALL areas of our team will need to play well. No stupid penalties. No stupid turnovers. The coaches need us prepared for anything.

The Cowboys will be wise to continue the rotation they’ve been using on the Left side of the Oline. Tyler and Peters have been rotating in and out at both Guard and Tackle. McGovern hasn’t had to play 100% of the snaps at Left Guard, and he should be rotating at Center in practice to protect against losing Biadasz. When Tyron comes back, he shouldn’t be asked to play every series. With both Tyler and Peters available, Tyron should also rotate in and out of the lineup.

Just like the Cowboys are better with both Zeke and Pollard rotating at RB, and the Cowboys using 4 TE’s, and having multiple options at WR with Gallup getting better and healthier, the emergence of Noah Brown, and the soon return of Washington, and just as the Dline rotates in a plethora of players, and Bland and Joseph coming in for Lewis and Brown, and the three headed monster at safety; the Cowboys are better when they play as a team, and don’t depend solely on a few key players. Even backup QB Cooper Rush has played a key role this year, and 3rd RB Davis scored his first career TD last week.

This is a team, in the true sense of the word. They are getting healthier and stronger at the right time. There is much to be excited over.

How confident are you we can slow down the run in the playoffs?

I am getting more confident since Hankins and Gallimore have stepped up a little bit.

100%, This TEAM, will take us as far as we go!

I will say though. The O line needs to continue to improve, which I think they will with Tyron coming back( if he stays healthy )and the DL and LBers, need to continue to improve vs the run, so we can unleash our #1 ranked pass rush!!!!

Go Cowboys!

As long as they show up in the playoffs.

Last year against SF was one of the worst OL performances I can remember from this team. Hope they haven’t forgotten that game come playoff time.
Our O line was way overrated last year. This years O line has much more POWER at the point of attack, especially if Tyron comes back health and Tyler moves to LG!

The only time I can remember the OL totally under performing in the playoffs with Romo was against Minnesota in the 2009 playoffs. However, the defense was terrible in that game as well. We lost two playoff games to the Packers because we couldn’t stop Aaron Rodgers. We lost to the Rams in the playoffs in 2018 because we gave up over 200 rushing yards. Our offense struggled against San Francisco in the playoffs last season but our defense gave up over 150 rushing yards. The 49ers totally manhandled our DL.

It depends on who we face in the playoffs. I’m not overly confident we can stop the run in the playoffs but our run D has looked better the last three games. However, offenses with mobile QBs have given us trouble. We’ll find out where our run defense is when we face Philly and Tennessee.

Alacron is better than Ball at tackle.

That’s why Cowboys offense needs to run the ball consistently.

when Steele went down I was going to use that as the reason we lost, but my prediction of mouthbreather sucking it up and winning came true. The offensive line, Moore, and the defense got lucky we have mouthbreather.

You have to have a passing game to score points. You can’t just pound the ball all day on the ground, you need balance and we need to create some big plays.
