07:28 AM ET 04.21 | For Donald Trump, the bottom line may not be enough. [Trump], whose fortune has been listed at $3.9 billion by Forbes, can probably pay cash for the Bills, listed as the 30th most valuable NFL franchise by Forbes last summer with a value of $870 million. Trump has set himself up as a potential hero by saying he is serious about buying the Bills -- the team's only owner Ralph Wilson died at the age of 95 on March 25 -- and is committed to keeping them in Buffalo. One small problem: NFL owners have long memories. Trump, who was the owner of the New Jersey Generals, is considered by the NFL as the driving force behind the USFL's $1.69 billion antitrust lawsuit against the league in 1986, which ultimately earned the USFL an award of $1 trebled to $3.
