No, wait ... that went out the window when we shredded them for 31 points.

I've got it. The Green Bay Packers' defense can shut down every wide receiver, its awe-inspiring linebackers can take any tight end out of the game, and its unblockable pass-rushers can crush quarterbacks at will.

No, wait ... we put up 414 yards and 37 points on them.

Hmm ... I guess we'll just have to wait for Goose to tell us which of our upcoming opponents has that dominant defense capable of shutting down our smoke-and-mirrors offense.

Can't we have something that will keep someone who is on the "ignore" list of more than 100 members from starting a new thread at all?

Ive been saying this all year, our secondary coverage is designed to give up those 8-10 yard routes all day. Notice we never give up a deep ball? There a reason behind it. If a team is patient enough they could have those all day like today, Aaron Rodgers last week, Trent Green in week 2 for a half etc. The key is teams are never patient enough to stay with that plan because if they do were done. Kitna did today. This year is moreso the philosphy than the players.

Notice that when we have no pass rush we usually don't look good at corner. We have a good pass rush our corner play seems real good.

In the NFL you have to get a good pass rush, and for the most part this year we've had that. Just didn't have it today. If you have a bad pass rush in the NFL you'll get beat a lot.

Frankly, it wasn't just our corners. Our entire defense played poorly today. Our coverage was poor, we let Detroit run on us, our tackling was pathetic, and we could not get Detroit off the field on third and long. Very poor performance by the defense. BUT, we did win.

Lots of guys were not even running at full speed.

Jeez...one of our corners is jogging on the first TD run.

I don't see a lot of guys running to the ball [letting others make the tackle]

Would be nice to see some fire in 'em.

Duh!!!! Hence the poor performance. I also don't think the defense was well prepared. The fact that Detroit came out running the ball caught us totally by surprise. We haven't been run on like that all year and Detroit sucks running the ball. Bottom line? Poor defensive game plan and performance. BUT, we did win.

Some folks will never be happy! I had low expectations before the season for this team as I'm sure some of the whiners did but I'm freakin' geeked that I was wrong!

Ha, yeah I see what you're saying. Me, I'm just enjoying the wonderful the Cowboys are taking me on this year, I've never really experienced a great year, hopefully it continues.
