How would you all feel if we beat Washingtom 10-0 and Philly 7-0.

Defense winning games vs. Romo and the offense ?

Jarvman dream come true.

Two shutouts to end the season?

I'd really like our chances in the Super Bowl playing that kind of defense.

I think it would depend on how the games were played. Were the shutouts due to good defense or just because of real bad offensive efforts.

The defense issue sounds real good, because of the old saying, Defense wins championships! But at the same time, we need to get some points too, so our offense can continue to grow and improve for the playoffs.

It would remind me of the 1970 team. That may have been our greatest defensive ball club.

Given a choice, I would much rather watch a 38-28 game with Dallas winning. However, if you could promise me two victories the next two weeks, I could care less how we get them.

Why would you want to see our defense give up 28 points ?

Yup. Beating the Lions 5-0 in 1970 was nerve-wracking but the defense was powerful, and that team got to the Super Bowl.

On the nosey

That defense is an NFL all time great...never gets the respect it deserves.

I have a DVD of that game.

It's still nerve wracking to watch. :p:

I would feel great, especially knowing that both the offense and defense played solid football to beat Philadelphia. The Eagles' success has depended greatly upon their defense capitalizing on turnovers and the offense hitting the jackpot on big plays each game. Negating both of those factors would be sweet indeed.

i remember watching the 1970 team. just looked it up, 3 hall of famers on that defence. adderly, lily and renfro.

Just thinking of Chuck Howley still standing on the outside of the Hall of Fame looking in is absolutely mindboggling.

I like offensive, so the 1981 playoff game against Tampa Bay where we won 38-0 is what I like to see.

The game against Detroit was nerve wrecking and boring. One mistake by our offense, a tipped pass or fumble, and we could lose the game no matter how good the defense played.

But I do believe the old adage "defense wins championships".

I just like to see our offensive score.

There should be 5 HOFs on the 70 Defense, Lilly, Renfro, Adderly, Cornel Greene and Chuck Howley. And we had a pretty good rookie that started in that SB as well.
