As long as no EDOBA, lol. hopefully they shot him after that game and we don't have to see him again
I couldn't have said it better. Should be replaced on the 53 going into the playoffs.... um hes like a bottle cap or navel lint. A nothing.

I really like what I've seen from Bass. I think we have something with him. Sample size is too small for Hoffman yet.

Bass and Hoffman were great today and Bass was also great last weekend. Cowboys hitting on two late round depth pieces is massive for the future. We have options now if things don't work our with Martin.
Neither player was drafted, they are both undrafted free agents.

They did well today but I would shidder to think of them in a playoff game. We need aces in their places.

Right. He's under contract for 2024, a fully guaranteed contract. Best we can hope is that he restructures it into a long-term deal.
I'm not even sweating that.
Cap cost of the roster is not a pressing matter at all.

It's not about contract money, but more so what will be Martin's level of play in the next couple of years, that will determined if he's slipped so much that we need to replace him.

If he's still playing at a high level in the interior, i'm for continuing to start him until he stops.

I'm very confident we can find Bass type OGs again.

If anything, a more likely scenario is moving a Tyler Smith to LT, and a Bass at LG,.. "when/if Tyron Smith himself declines quickly. - and i don't mean missing games, i mean he becomes Chaz Green like in play-performance.

But all indications with his play in '23, he himself is still playing a high level.

Agreed on Tyler and Bass. When Tyron calls it quit, that does look like a probable scenario. However, I am also intrigued by Richards at LT and the possibility of Bass playing center. I don't know what Biadasz is going to be seeking to be kept as center, but we may be looking for another center no matter what. Don't know if Bass can convert, but his skill set looks like it would transfer.

No way do I want to give Biadasz real money

...yep, I dont what it was. Whether it was Wash DL or our OL..

But Bass and Hoffman, made things click. TP was avg at least 5.0 ypc

It was refreshing to see. As others have indicated. Maybe, Martin just not the guy anymore.

That's the problem. Either we do or center becomes an early-round, possibly first-round, need.
IF the FO is smart they offer him a decent one year deal to give him one last chance to step up

I like TJ Bass but lets pump the brakes. We played the 4-12 Commanders who missed 3 of 4 starting Linemen.

But yes we did win the battle of backups. Still dont want to see this line against the Packers.

You want an O line that can go toe to toe with the best
BUT at least these guys give us hope that we have some talent to develop
I agree I would hate to put those guys up against SF or the Ravens

Bass has looked pretty decent in his other opportunities, though.

But I'd like to get this OL coach issue resolved first.

i can get how these guys are constantly having to go thru various OL scheme, technique and philosophies, from us hopping from OL coach to OL coach instability. (Pollack, Alexander, Columbo, Philibin & Solari)
And this can be a nuisance. We need to get this OL coach right .. and keep it right.

Oh it’s still a weakness when you see Tyron not play….need a young tackle if that guy isn’t Tyler.

I would guess Solari will be kept unless the team lays an egg in the first round of the playoffs and Jones decides to can McCarthy. After all, in this thread and others, we're praising the play of two UDFA linemen. I don't think in a season where we were one of the top scoring teams in the league that they'll be making another change to the line. I know it hasn't been perfect, but some of that is Steele coming off an ACL tear, some of that is relying on Edoga as the backup LT, some of that is the run scheme (and the backs) and two or three other reasons could be thrown in.
