This is my biggest concern and still don't know why Oline was not addressed in free agency ?
Why would you pay your QB 40 Mill a year and not provide him adequate protection?
Not to mention it hurts your run game too.
I don't get it

Maybe just maybe you've had enough of his BS out there esp after paying him 75 million the past year and you've decided to stop pampering him and have his show you he is worth all that cap cash?
If not you are saving cap cash to give you the option to make him a pre-june 1st cut.......just maybe???

Guys! that what camp is for, to answer these questions we have Mcgovern, Farniok and others etc they will know when they do cut down what they have wand who falls in what order of then depth chart. Its LITERALLY what the offseason is for..

camp battles, Preseason etc its not to find just the starting 22 , that pretty much set, they need to figure out the other 31, that right 31 thats more role payers than starters, thats figuring rotations. after that then build out the practice squad..its literally why there is an off season. SMH.

You are counting on Ball and an injured lightweight 5th round pick to back him up when he gets hurt?
Our starting center was pushed around.
Our LG is a rookie.
We got nuttin in the way of quality backups.
If a person is a fan of the Cowboys and not concerned about the Oline, they are not paying attention.
I mean this post with a respectful tone btw.

Not making excuses for Dak, but it's gonna be hard for any QB to be successful if he is running for his life every pass play.

And to be fair, I was wrong on Philbin. I thought he was a decent hire but someone, maybe Dre11 or someone else, was clear he was a mistake. I even argued with him over it. I was way wrong. Philbin should have been sent to the scrap heap after 2021. This OL is in a slow transition with younger players like Smith and Biadasz and Steele being asked to make large leaps to make the OL better. IMO, there should have been a new voice in the OL room.

How much blame or credit should go to Joe Philibin ?
How much is coach ..how much is players ?

For those that support Philibin, will also credit Philbin for the development of Terrence Steele, whom the club apparently believe
was a better performer (both on/off the field) than Collins.

- But we had two Conners that were chosen high draft rounds that never developed as expected, and you have a center in Biadasz, that the McCarthy vouched
to get in the NFL draft, but thus far been average-decent.
We'll have to see how the likes of youngsters Tyler, Ball, Matt Wally, and Steele pan out.

- In fact, I can still see (and fully expect) particular teams like Tampa and Philly to shift and purposedly line up their hulking DTs in Vita Vea and Jordan Davis
over Biadasz , and with all interior guys you’d like to have guys that can singlehandedly handle their opposing foes one on one without needing double team help.

- In fairness to Philbin, only Tyler, Biadasz are under his umbrella as his draft picks – with both the Connors previous picks, and the way they have operated thus far,
they just don’t seem like stellar picks.

- I still have questions if this Packer-type zone scheme is Idea (or not ideal?) for brawl style OLinemen like Tyler Smith, Zach and Tyron- even Steele.
And I still think there’s something missing and flawed between OC and OL coach with this run scheme and design, and yes that even includes the TE.

I liked Marc Columbo’s physical approach in the power scheme. and how he got the 2019 OL to be so effective as one of the better OL units in NFL.
But McCarthy was new arrival and he has a right to have his hand pick assistant coaches, (those who management would allow) and Philibin is his long time assistant buddy.

What did he do when he had 4-1st rounders on the line and a young Zeke..... the defense's fault or is it the Garett excuse here?
