I'm going to keep it quite and light.
The starters looked good.
Tyron Smith looked very good, still needs some footwork.
Nagy looked pretty good at LG and looks very good for our future.
Arkin also looked great, he and Nagy are going to have a good abttle and look to have a good future.
As for the Costa, he looked like a back up. I saw him get pushed back several times by a 3rd string NT. The Costa over Guorde talk is over now for me.

I thought Nagy was as expected up and down.

Dude what game were you watching or what tape were you watching?? Arkin had few issues, he far from being great. Costa was just fine.

But overall, OL, both starting and backup mostly looked good, except against Corey Luiget couple of times, and that too it was Arkin seems like who was culprit. Beaten once and made a mental mistake seems like on the fumble.

On the Other Hand, Parnell looks like a real deal. He seems at the very least very good backup, to starter in future. Sam Young got beat or close to getting beat couple of times, and seems like he missed the off season workouts, which might have put him behind eight ball, in taking next step.

Nagy Looked ok Arkin got smoked on that fumble by Mcgee. I was happy with Andre and the way Smith played. Also Free is just the MAN he is quiet and does his job period.

I thought he looked good. He was solid for a 7th round rookie and looks great for our future at OG. I think Arkin will win the LG spot. Nagy will be either our future center or RG.

Run blocking was great tonight.

We ran the ball right down their throats on the TD drive.

I really would love to see Garrett call more running plays.

I was watching the same game as you I think. I kept seeing Costa getting beat. Arkin had a few mistakes but he is a rookie and its preseason, its going to happen.

I agree on Parnell, I think he will be our #3 OT and Young will be moved to the practice squad. Parnell had some problems too but overall was pretty good.

I didn't see costa getting beat. I thought he played very well.

I didn't see Costa getting beat. Maybe you got the number wrong? Kowalski, who got number 60, is the only one I saw being physically overwhelmed few times.

Arkin had issues this game, unlike last game against Denver. He was no means bad, but not starting worthy at this point. I understand now why coaches have put Nagy in starting line for now.

watch the game again. The third quarter he was in the back field several times being pushed back by one player.

I kept seeing #67 getting pushed back into the backfield in the third quarter.Only time Costa did good was in the 4th quarter and when he had Arkin helping. But yeah #60 wasn't so great either.

Maybe you ought to watch the game again and share with us the exact plays where Costa was getting pushed back consistently or several times as you put it? I am not talking about a play here and there. Since I didn't see this consistent push back.

Tyron Smith - I thought he played pretty well. There was one play where I think he missed his assignment (didn't even pick his man up), just like last week. That's gonna happen, but don't think the Jets won't pick up on this and try to completely confuse him Week 1.

Nagy - I thought he did well too. He plays with a lot of leverage and seemed to pick up on the right man snap after snap.

Arkin - Had some ups and downs; seems to have trouble at times with letting guys through. Played with a lot of effort. Have to remember this kid is a rookie and will continue to develop.

Costa - Admittedly, I was watching the aforementioned players mainly, but I didn't see him getting abused out there. I'll have to rewatch the game again.

Parnell - I thought he did pretty well again, all things considered. Picked up a penalty, but was also able to stay in front of his man consistently.

Just watch the 3rd quarter.

Yeah, Kowalski was terrible.

Arkin looked okay but he did make the mistake on the sack/fumble play. Arkin has a steep learning curve coming from the small school program and he was playing LT his senior year as well. He will benefit greatly from the offseason where he can work with Woicik.

I do think this game did show how much better Gurode is than Costa. I do hope his knees can hold out for another year or two because we will miss him when he is gone. I think I was a bit down on him because of the poor interior running the last couple of years but that was probably mostly due to Bigg playing beside him.

Nagy got bulled by Garay once but overall did a solid job. If anyone challenges Holland for a starting spot, its Nagy. Arkin appeared to get beat more than any of the young guys we're looking at. I thought Parnell reallly played well. Got beat once on the holding call but otherwise was very good. Was equally effective blocking the big DEs and smaller rush LBs. Again very impressive who is only 2 years into playing OT.

Did you guys see Arkin absolutely annihilate someone on Tanner's helmet-less run?

I like Arkin. A lot.

As a whole unit are o line looked good we can actually run to the right side now ..... Were more athletic up front n we dominated in the trenches (first team )

Arkin got abused by the Chargers #1 pick. Parnell was holding everywhere and did not look that good against backups.

I'm not sure I saw anyone play consistent enough to unseat Holland just yet. But I saw a lot of good young talent that can be developed into future starters.
