In watching games over the last 2 seasons, has anyone else notice how much better we run with Oliver Hoyte in as lead FB ? This guy being out really does effect our running game.

Like Moose and L. Neal...Ask Emmitt and LT how much difference the FB makes in the running game.

I wonder if there are any stats on how much better we run with him in there.

Yes we really miss him and hopefully he be ready to go in time for Eagles game. Admit I'm concerned about him. He suffered his first stinger during preseason and it came back again maybe 3 weeks ago. Don't understand much about that injury (I think it's a neck injury) but wonder how often it will pop up this season.

I like Deon Anderson's offensive contribution but he's a rookie who needs become better in his blocking assignments, etc. Hopefully he improves as the season moves on and becomes in 08 the FB we need who provides great blocking on blitzes/opening up holes for our RBs but also gives us a much needed offensive punch. But again, right now we miss Hoyte.

Oh yeah. Hoyte is a MUCH better blocker than Anderson. I really wish we'd had him to wear on Bruschi this last game, because he's so much more physical than Anderson. And of course he isn't a rookie.

I hope he's back for that stretch of division games after the bye.

I'd rather see Deon become a better blocker. I like Oliver "Stone Hands" Hoyte, but he is absolutely no threat out of the backfield.

Moose is an Anderson fan.

Not sure Hoyte will get his job back.

:)

Anderson can't block for ****. Hoyte needs to get back quickly.

Agreed, not that a FB should be the fous of the offense, but I like Anderson catching passes out of the backfield.

If I had to choose between the two skills , I prefer blocking over pass catching for the FB. It would be great if they can do both well.
