MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University athletic director Oliver Luck is leaving his position for a lead job with the NCAA, multiple sources told the Charleston Daily Mail on Wednesday.
Luck, 54, will be in a position to shape and direct NCAA reform from the organization’s office in Indianapolis. His oldest son, Andrew, happens to be the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. Luck is expected to be named an executive vice president with the oft-criticized governing body of college sports.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve my alma mater as director of athletics for the past four and a half years,” Luck said in a WVU news release. “As those who have spent time in West Virginia know, this is truly a special place. It’s been an incredible experience for me to work with some of the best administrators, faculty, coaches, staff, student-athletes, fans, media and alumni in the nation. As a member of the Big 12, the University is well-positioned for future success and I know that great things lie ahead for WVU. My wife, Kathy, and I will always cherish our time in Morgantown and we will forever be Mountaineers.

He was one of, if not the only one, Rep for the Big 12 on the College football playoff committee. If he will no longer have that position, I wonder who will step in from the big 12.
