We all know that the Cowboys value position flex when it comes to offensive linemen. I've heard some say Kelvin Banks Jr could play guard at a high level in the NFL. And with Zack Martin's recent retirement I'm sure OL just went up on the Cowboys draft board.
What offensive linemen in this draft do you see with position flex?

position flex is great for backups.

BUT its a case of being good at several positions and not REAL GOOD OR BETTER AT ONE.

When I look at a starter, I want one that can be REALLY GOOD OR BETTER there. Tyler Smith is the exception in that we wanted him for LT but turns out he is better at Guard. Zach was drafted with the understanding that he was going to play guard. Tyron Smith was drafted to play LT but he played his first year at RT to gain experience and Free at that time was doing oK at LT. which is what we SHOULD have done this last year instead of putting Guyton at LT. When you are talking later rd picks then position flex is good. Cooper was drafted to play center. Now he MIGHT end up at guard but he was DRAFTED for center. First and second rd picks at the least SHOULD Be picked because you expect them to really perform at ONE POSITION.

ohio state's donovan jackson is an excellent guard.
when josh simmons got hurt...jackson bounced outside to take that spot.
and honestly was dominant.
they didn't miss a beat.
give me donovan jackson in rd2 and this draft is a home run regardless of what happens at 12.
but dont misinterpret...we need to hit 12 outta the park.

another ol i like is oregon's ajani cornelius.
last name aside ;) he is a good tackle who some think will be a better og.
im higher on him than most.

I don’t know if position flex necessarily has to mean that they will play multiple positions in the NFL. It can also be about identifying a college player that will excel at a different position. For instance, there’s usually guys that are regarded as mid round OT prospects that can turn into good starters at OG.

I would just note that if you can get a Larry Allen or such, go for it! Been very few better "flex position" players in the NFL over the years that were not just good, but great at various spots...

very few indeed. I just think that the boys all too often over emphasize this.
Jack of all trades almost always means master of NONE.

This Guard class is so loaded I really hope we get one in the top 5 rounds.

A lot of the OTs will likely move to G.

Donovan Jackson is one of my favorite prospects in the draft. G that moved out to LT due to injury and was a stud in OSUs championship run. Gives me Tyler S vibes.

I hope Jerry signs Will Henderson in free agency.

Do you mean Will Hernandez? He’s coming off a PFF grade of 69.

I know that isn’t the end all be all but I’d rather roll with what we have and spend the money elsewhere.

I would not be ticked off if we gave the young players we have now a season to see what they have got. We have so many other needs.

Hernandez has been a career bust and is coming off a season where he missed the last 11 or 12 games. Also everything points towards moving back towards a zone running scheme with lots of movement which Hernandez is a poor fit with limited lateral mobility. Just because he was forced on the coaches in Arizona doesn’t mean he was the best fit nor should they do the same here!
