On a scale of 1 to 10, how confident would you be with Bland as the 2 CB in 2023

Why would you want Brown over Bland? Bland has made more plays in 9-10 games than Brown has made in the last 5 years.
from the slot not on the edge
You rather have brown on a cheap deal or use a draft pick on a CB?
If you let brown walk you have to replace him

7 ......zero problems with him replacing Lewis
In a perfect world he’d replace brown next year but they’ve seemed to like him in the slot
Lewis has one year left if Wright can continue to grow you could maybe trade lewis for a little something
Wright looked like a NFL CB yesterday but he still needs to improve
Lewis can play inside or outside so if you don’t need numbers you could probably get something for him
He’s a solid player
Have bland inside and Wright the future outside
I also think brown can be brought back cheap one year two so you have numbers

diggs, bland and wright.

Bland has been good in the slot. Yes, he’s given up some passes but every corner does. He should continue to get better with more reps/experience.

J. Lewis can walk. Never been much of a fan of his. I still think we should look at a starting caliber corner to pair with Diggs either in the draft or FA.
Lewis is under contract next season, Brown is not.

I’m becoming more confident with Bland as the season goes on. He’s becoming a real playmaker leading the team with 5 INT’s.

5-6. He still has a lot to learn. The int’s are covering up a lot of his mistakes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he’s here and he’s got a great future. But he still has a ways to go before declaring “confidence” in him.

From what you have seen of him this year, what is your comfort level with him as the #2 CB next year
Don’t they it’l matter, or, unless he completely poops his pants or is beaten out by a rookie in camp, he’s almost certainly the next season!

I think they see him more of a slot guy than an outside CB. He played outside yesterday but Lewis will likely be the 2 if not brown. Brown would probably have been gone for big money but coming off a serious injury I suspect he comes back on a one year deal
Lewis will most likely be a cap casualty, at Brown’s age that Achilles is probably a career ender! It’ll be 2024 before he’s completely back from that… don’t see anyone paying to have an slightly above average corner in rehab half the season then protect him by scheme the 2nd half!

Bland is way better than expected, being a 5th round pick. Good size, speed, and coverage skill. I said earlier in the year that he only needed to work on turning his head and playing the ball instead of just mirroring the receiver, and that's exactly what the INT's are suggesting. He was great at mirroring from the go. We still need to draft another CB in the off-season for depth.
