On a very bright note

You know how when players run a bad 40 time, like Escobar, how coaches and scouts talk up their "football speed?" Escobar is just slow. There is no football speed there.

Escobar is not Bennett. He doesn't block NEARLY as great as Bennett did but Bennett doesn't catch nearly as well. Bennett catches footballs with his chest. Escobar goes up and gets it. I don't see why he can't get more snaps....

I agree with that football speed excuse, but Escobar is fluid and is aggressive in getting to the ball. Still hate the pick; but the player seems he should've been in the 3-4 range instead of mid 2 and is more of a knock on the scout dept and JG's willingness to invest a 2nd rounder without making it a point to get him snaps, even if it means replacing Witten in some formations as mentioned by a previous poster.

His top speed was better than Witten's at the combine.
Escobar 18.94 mph
Witten 17.93 mph

Escobar was is just slow coming out of a track stance, but has good speed once he gets going. His agility numbers show that he should be quick in and out of breaks.
