A few questions:

1. Is it a given that Leonard Davis plays right guard this year? Might he play left guard?

2. Jerry Jones has hinted that McQuistan will be given an opportunity to show what he can do at guard. Is there any specific advantage associated with him playing left guard (as opposed to right)?

3. It seems clear that Rivera's days are over. Right now, if you had to bet, what are the odds that Kosier will lose his starting job (and become a multi-position backup)?

Considering he was just given a nice juicy contract last year, and played decently, not good.

I don't see any reason to bench Kosier for an undrafted rookie who hasn't played a single snap. I thought Kosier did a good job last season. I think the Cowboys are in the enviable position of not having to rush an inexperienced player into the starting lineup.

LD will play RG

Rivera will retire

Kosier will play LG

Book it :D

I think McQ stands a good chance of beaten out Kosier especially if we are gonna be going back to a roadgrader Oline and less finesse players

I could see them liking the possibility of KK being able to back up both guard positions on gameday and making McQ the starting LG.

McQuinstan played left guard in college. Kosier has more experience, but McQuinstan has more physical ability. May the best man win.

If McQ can come in and beat out Kosier then no problem but he's changing positions and will have to learn a new offense. Kosier has the edge because of his experience.

I wouldn't want it any other way:)... but it would be only the mental part of the game that I would worry about McQ

Garrett's offense would be much different from last year's. If McQuistan is moved to OG, although I had read before the draft that we planned use McQuistan as swing OT. Addition of Free/Marten might have changed that given Jerry saying McQuistan might move to OG. Looking forward to TC and the new competition we might have at a variety of positions. Sure glad to know that Grizz will be at TC most days so we will get almost daily input on the kind of details we all want and not that DMN/FWST sadly lacking in detail garbage.

Do you realize that this is the first year Flozel Adams might actually face any kind of a challenge at LT? No, I'm not saying Free (or McQuistan) beat him out this year but do hope Free shows while we drafted him.

i am thinking that flozell will play LT, McQuistan will play part time at LG with Kosier, old saying competition is good, makes the other player better, and davis at RG,

reason why davis at RG and colombo at RT, both are big men, and most teams run to the right best i remember, with davis whom is 6-6 365 & colombo at 6-8, 320, you have 2 huge big men to open holes.

then if your thinking about having mcquistan whom is 6-6 315 and flozell whom is 6-7 335, you would have to big men at left side, flozell is older though 32 i think or 33, so run blocking wouldnt be as good like for a younger player

i do see the possiblity of mcquistan beating out kosier at the end of the year, though, he is so much bigger, more talent too

Garrett said he's using the same run blocking schemes as last year, and Sporano is still basically the run blocking coordinator. Garrett is basically Todd Haley with a fancier title. The only thing that's changing is the passing offense.

the only reason id move kosier to the bench is because he can play ever single position on the line other than C... he was brought in as a G/T.. so he could potentially be our 6th man on the line.. .thats only if some 1 wows us and we need to move him to the bench

McQ, Free or Marten would have to be the next LA to replace Kosier right now. He's just too experienced and was arguably our best olineman last yr, not that would have been hard to do.

see i agree with that... i hate how people want to move him to the bench because hes not the huge mauling type... the guy was arguably the best olineman last year.. just goes in and does his job.. much like colombo

There's no rush to bench Kosier. He played well. Nothing wrong with letting the young pups grow alittle. Give them some spot play, and see how things pan out in 2008.

Kosier's not a monster, but he played pretty well.

I have no issue with Kosier being the starter but I do think there should be competition for the job. Dallas line has not proved enough for any player on the line to be guaranteed anything. If Kosier shows he is the best option then great.
