I was just reading the recap of the Troy Aikman interview on KTCK over on the other forum. He mentioned that we could be seeing the beginning of this year's December Giants Collapse. We Cowboys fans know a lot about December collapses, but I really don't think what we're seeing with the Giants is actually a collapse. I think what we're seeing is a team that isn't very good, but had a creampuff schedule in the first half of the season. Other than Dallas, who did they play? Now that they're playing teams other than Dallas that are halfway decent, they're losing.

I just don't think the Giants were ever all that good this season.

It's a combination of that and Eli Manning just not playing very well the last two weeks. Okay, that's putting it nicely - he's been terrible, especially last week. They could get away with that in Miami (or London, as it were) but not against teams with marks in the win column, let alone winning records.

Fact is, in the first game Dallas' banged up secondary made him look a lot better than he is. In the second game he looked like the same old confused Eli.

I'm so glad the Giants traded a lot for him and pay him like they are.

That's usually what you see when a team collapses. Outside of a major injury, a mediocre team normally loses when they play a better team. It happened to us in 2003 and last year.

Not happening this year though. This year we are one of the teams that knocks a mediocre team back down to Earth.

You'll see the same thing happen to the Lions this year. They got off to a somewhat fast start but still lost to better teams. They will continue on and most likely finish around 8-8. Same with the Giants. Same with Denver.

I just hope we can beat the crap out of Detroit for all the smack talk after last years game...
