On to the offseason

This game really hurt. I was very pleased with the way we fought to get back into the game and tie the score. We have a strong young QB and RB and I like what our future holds. We need to build up the defensive side of the ball in the upcoming offseason. I'm a 35 year fan of our Cowboys and I won't bad mouth them or the coaches (just not in my nature to do so). No one ( including myself ) expected us to go 13-3 with a rookie QB under center, but we all were pleasantly surprised by what Dak accomplished this year. We came up short of what we all thought could be a special season, and who knows what next season will bring. I had to sleep before making this post because I was emotional as I know all of you were. My head is a little more clear and I say thank you team for a great ride this season, and thank all of you Zoners for sharing that ride!

This will be my last post of the season and I won't visit the forum during the offseason because I need to let my mind rest and recoup from the season.

We need to work on the defensive side of the ball. Also need a Tight End (If Witten hangs them up) and a Wide Receiver to compliment Dez

This offseason will be a balancing act for sure.

Our offseason strategy has been conservative lately but you got to think if you're in the front office that we are so close...

I can't say I want the team handing out huge guarantees on 5 year contracts but a couple 2-3 year deals for some significant upgrades would be nice.

We still need a lot of things, first id like a few new coaches since im sure we are keeping Garrett. Than we have to see how they attack FA, than the draft, and which sets up which. Also i think we need to look realistically at some of our players and see if they are more first string or second string. I think that should have a lot of focus. Than see who are worthy of being project and whos just a spot holder. After we attack the PS, than we build things up right.
